TORNADO WATCH issued for DC Metro, tornadoes, damaging winds, flash flooding possible

WASHINGTON — A TORNADO WATCH is in effect for the D.C. Metro area until midnight. Several rounds of storms into the D.C. area pose the potential for damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and heavy rain.
3 P.M. Update
The first round of heavy rain and embedded storms has been moving north through the DC metro over the last hour. The heavy rain should be winding down around 4 PM, but more storms will move in later this evening.
