Mueller speaks about investigation for first time, says he won't comment beyond his report

Source: NBC News

"If we had had confidence that (Trump) clearly did not commit a crime we would have said so," the special counsel said.

Special counsel Robert Mueller said on Wednesday that his report "speaks for itself" and that even if he were to testify before Congress he wouldn't provide any information "beyond what is already public."

"The report is my testimony," Mueller said at the Justice Department in his first comments on the two-year probe of Russian election meddling and possible obstruction by President Donald Trump.

"I would not provide information beyond what is already public in any appearance before Congress," Mueller said.

3. No, not at all. He said "Pay attention, Americans!" & effectively "My hands are tied yours are not!"

Pay attention, Americans!

And I will close by reiterating the central allegation of our indictments that there were multiple, systematic efforts to interference in our election. That allegation deserves the attention of every American. Thank you.

My hands are tied, yours are not!

And second, the opinion says that the constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse a sitting president of wrong doing.

Could not be clearer.

4. If he had actually said "Pay attention Americans!" I would agree with you.

He did not "effectively" say his hands were tied. You just posted what would have been a more "effective" what to say it: "My hands are tied yours are not!"

But he never said any of that.

His tone and body language screamed "Leave me alone!" He looked old and tired. I was struck by the flinty sound of his voice. It seams he has aged 20 years since his last public statement, when he spoke with confidence and his voice was much deeper.

5. Robert Mueller could have ended this.

But instead, he resorted to speaking in riddles, inferring, implying...

He had the gaul to give Barr a positive spin, when he knew good and well that Barr had outright lied about the report.

Unfortunately, Mueller is not man enough to face the music of reporting to Congress (where, if forced to testify before them, he will do nothing but read from his report), nor willing to make it perfectly clear to the American public, in no uncertain terms, that turdface cooperated with Putin and his coordinated effort to steal the 2016 election FOR turdface.

Mueller has washed his hands of us.

Fucking pathetic.

7. Totally agree. He couldn't even bring himself to say Russia worked to hurt Hillary.

He wouldn't even say her name, he simply said they attacked an American Presidential "candidate." Trumpers will read that as referring to Trump!

I missed it and wanted to know what he said about Barr and if he shut it down early, etc.

8. If it needs to be "translated," his statement failed. He should have said that clearly.

Instead, it smacked of wishy washy mumbo jumbo.

"he wouldn't provide any information "beyond what is already public.""

Oh yes he will, under threat of perjury.

Subpoena him, then sit him down and swear him in.
