A group of Proud Boys appearing to be headed to attend President Trump’s reelection campaign launch in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday were stopped by police when they tried to confront anti-Trump demonstrators.

Video from reporter Philip Crowther shows officers from the Orlando Police Department on bikes blocking the self-pronounced Proud Boys from interacting with the demonstrators.

Several of the men are pictured wearing red “Make America Great Again” hats, the signature apparel of the Trump campaign. ......................................



Proud Boys stopped by police before reaching anti-Trump rally in Orlando

A group of Proud Boys appearing to be headed to attend President Trump’s reelection campaign launch in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday were stopped by police when they tried to confront anti-Trump demonstrators.

Video from reporter Philip Crowther shows officers from the Orlando Police Department on bikes blocking the self-pronounced Proud Boys from interacting with the demonstrators.

Several of the men are pictured wearing red “Make America Great Again” hats, the signature apparel of the Trump campaign.

Earlier video posted by Crowther shows some of the Proud Boys interacting with a protestor.

The Proud Boys describe themselves as "western chauvinists" who reject alt-right ideology. The Southern Poverty Law Center labels them a hate group and says members regularly use the language of white nationalism.

3. The Sheriffs allowed the Proud Boys to disrupt my protest

almost two years ago in San Diego. The sheriffs stood there and smiled as the Proud Boys (who came down from LA for the anti-tRump protest). They used loud sirens to drown out speakers and nothing was done to stop them from taunting the protesters. They were trying to incite violence and one of the guest speakers called the Chief of Police. She was a city council member and had clout. That is what it took for them to finally separate the groups.

Instead of giving anger/hate back to them (as they had hoped) we Resisters smiled and ignored them. I waved the "Peace sign" to them as I walked past their group after they were separated....that really bugged them.

About a dozen members of the National Socialist Movement (NSM) marched with swastikas and riot shields, tore up a pride flag and hurled slurs at the LGBTQ+ community who gathered at Hart Plaza. One of the neo-Nazis appeared to urinate on an Israeli flag.

Surrounding the neo-Nazis were at least a dozen Detroit police officers, some of whom pushed festival-goers who tried to confront the neo-Nazis. In one video, a person shouts to police, "Why are you protecting them? These are literal Nazis." In another video, someone shouts, "Our police should be protecting us."
