The biggest forum for supporters of President Trump on Reddit has been quarantined" following months of incitements to violence and other offensive behavior, the tech giant said Wednesday, in a move that could further inflame conservatives claims of social-media bias.
The forum, called r/The_Donald, has long served as a highly trafficked and controversial gathering place for supporters of Trump and Republicans on Reddit, Americas fifth-most popular website.
Created in 2015, The_Donald counts roughly 750,000 followers and advertises itself as a never-ending rally dedicated to the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
Reddit officials said on Wednesday that the board had allowed or encouraged months of rule-breaking behavior, including the encouragement of violence towards police officers and public officials in Oregon.

(28,789 posts)i don't say what i would like to see happen to trump, mcconnell and their cabal.
i haven't seen threats here. i have seen fantasies. i don't do reddit, but my assumption was that the posters there had in fact threatened violence.

In the system I was raised to believe is moral and ethical, we don't suggest physical violence against a person we dislike as the way to deal with our dislike.
But I don't think the Washington Post is inciting them. Where do you see that?

(22,363 posts)Can a forum for supporters of the Mafia openly advocate rubbing out compeitors?
Can MS13 openly recruit on college campuses?
We need to stop thinking of the right wing as a source of alternative ideas and more like a violent criminal gang

On reddit people can vote up messages in a thread, so if you browse by "top" you can usually get the best few posts at the beginning without scrolling all the way through.

(6,241 posts)bill in the Oregon legislature. The republicans knew they didnt have enough votes to defeat it legitimately. So they packed their bags and split to Idaho, to prevent a quorum, and block the vote. The governor ordered them back, to continue the work of government. The republicans offered their middle fingers as a rebuttal. The governor ordered the state police to go get them. State militia announced they would defend the Oregon republicans from the state police. One of the republicans trash talked the cops, advising them to only send men without families (so no kids to miss them once they are killed in the line of duty), and come heavily armed.
The reddit forum was expressing support for killing the cops that were being sent after the legislators.
By the way: the Cap and Trade bill is dead. The Oregon dems have dropped it, saying they dont have enough votes to make it happen.
