President Trump said Thursday that he will hold a news conference later in the day on his administrations efforts to place a controversial citizenship question on the 2020 Census.
The event in the Rose Garden comes as Trump mulls using an executive order to accomplish a goal that has been stymied by court rulings.
In a morning tweet, Trump noted that he is planning a summit on social media at the White House in the afternoon. He is scheduled to speak at that event at 3:45 p.m.

White House officials did not immediately confirm Thursday morning that Trump would announce an executive order at the Rose Garden event a move he has telegraphed for days.

(7,142 posts)He wants Epstein/Acosta off the front page.
Ask him, reporters, why he gave Epstein 14 of his phone numbers? What did Epstein have to offer that was so important that he needed to have 14 phone numbers.
Don't let this Epstein/Acosta travesty die folks.

(816 posts)Some would say that the new Epstein arrest was a little odd on timing. Three days after an appeals court ruled that a lot of info/documents in another related case should be made public. These docs could uncover dirt on a lot of people. Some would say maybe even DJT. So what happens? Epstein is arrested. This shines the light back on him. Maybe it even stops the docs release. Oh and the little side benefit is that they raided his NY townhouse and took away tons of evidence. Some would say that Epstein may have been holding something on the Don. That "something" will never see the light of day. These people are absolute criminals.
The media creates a circus around Epstein, and all of the other scumbags slither away. For now.
This is all just an opinion.

(816 posts)Just common sense. I have been watching this Epstein thing for a while now. When I saw he was arrested again, three days after the ruling in the other case, my bullshit meter went red. Someone, who is very powerful, does NOT want those documents made public. There is enough in them that Epstein's ex girlfriend Ghisilane Maxwell (defendant in the case) actually tried to have them destroyed at one point.
The thought of all of those scumbags having their way with those girls like vultures and vampires sickens me to no end.
This Bullshit has to STOP!

(1,121 posts)how the so-called evangelicals, catholic church, and other such wingnuts constantly proclaim that they are for the "sanctity of life", but become oddly silent when it comes to this type of depravity. Very twisted, sick fuckers.

(816 posts)They know it exists all around them, but they would rather stick their heads in the sand. Unfortunately, you have to deal with it like it is cancer. Because it IS a cancer. You have to face it head on and eliminate all of it.

(959 posts)the census is in print right now. But it's a great distraction for the masses. And it'll get his ugly mug on the TV, which is the primary goal of everything.

(7,142 posts)I just read the first part of your sentence, I thought the sternly worded letter was going to go to AOC and her 3 friends. Sorry.
Am I the only one who wishes that AOC and her 3 friends were asking the questions to Mueller?

Looks like they've gotten over that idea.
