Turkey PM Erdogan says 500 Kurdish PKK killed in raids

Some 500 Kurdish rebels have been killed by Turkish security forces in the space of a month, Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said.

He said they included 123 militants killed over the past 10 days in the south-eastern city of Hakkari.

The surge in deaths follows an escalation in attacks by the PKK militant group on Turkish targets.

Dozens of Turkish troops and civilians, including children, have been killed in recent bombings blamed on the PKK.

The article says the deaths of civilians, including children, have been blamed on the PKK.

Have any civilians/children been killed by Turkish security forces?
