Gillespie: Romney to 'reinforce more specifics,' not announce new policy
Source: Politico
But on a conference call with reporters, Romney adviser Ed Gillespie said flatly that there would not be any new policy ideas coming from Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. Theyll be focused, Gillespie said, on laying out the details of plans theyve already announced.
...snip...
Asked if that meant Romney would answer longstanding questions about how he would pay for his tax reform plans and which government agencies he would cut or merge, Gillespie punted.
Were not rolling out new policy, he said, so much as moving to reinforce more specifics.

They have nothing new to offer
They've run the country for themselves for 32 years
All their policies are in place
Now they're just going for the extremes
It's not going to work

As one that makes a living out of understanding the words that are used in an argument, I must point out:
To say "we're not rolling out new policy" in response to questions on how he would pay for his tax reform plans and which government agencies he would cut or merge" can ONLY mean that there was no policy plan to begin with ... at least, not one that they wish to reveal.

(21,714 posts)There are no specifics on it at all, just that somehow, everybody will pay less taxes, and the deficit will go down. The math just isn't there.

(2,286 posts)No matter if the economy is up, down or just slogging forward -- more tax cuts for the rich, more cuts to social welfare programs and fewer regulations. It's a one-size-fits-all panacea.
Oh, and no abortion, no gay marriage and more talk of God -- while ignoring everything Jesus and the New Testament stands for.

(2,935 posts)I have yet to hear them. They think we are all stupid and hold us in contempt. Well, at least 47% of us. I used to joke about the 2012 Mayan prophecy and Sarah Palin hastening the end of the world. I'm starting to think they may be right and instead it is Mitt Romney who may hasten our end. If we, as a country, are stupid enough to elect this piece of shit to the Presidency, then I firmly believe that every one of us is truly fucked. Well at least 99% of us.
