Trump again appears to take North Korea's side against his own military, allies

Source: Washington Post

President Trump offered further warm words for Kim Jong Un on Saturday, appearing to accept the North Korean leader’s justification for a series of missile tests and offering no defense of U.S. military exercises with key Asian ally South Korea.

Just hours after Trump declared Friday that he has received another “very beautiful letter” from Kim, North Korea conducted its fifth test of short-range missiles in a little over two weeks.

Pyongyang has repeatedly insisted the tests are a reaction to joint U.S.-South Korean military exercises, as well as Seoul’s import of F-35A stealth fighters from the United States.

Trump appeared to accept that explanation.

There is no last resort, no long term bridle on the whims of our electoral process, no controls on the wayward politicians elected to the highest office. Members of the intelligence community assured us, and they've had some major successes, but we are still headed into the abyss.

I posted on another forum (about how the GOP brand was ruined because of tRump) that taking him out in a false flag operation, one that pinned the attack on an Antifa left wing radical could be the parties salvation. The ultimate October surprise that catapults Pence into power as a wave of anger against the left spurs massive turnout for the GOP.

Sounds crazy, but sometimes I wonder how far they would be willing to go in order to cling to power.

He absolutely will do anything and everything in his power to turn the NK deal into a win for him - NK's people and the US's reputation be damned.

Trump's biographers and many former employees have said he can never admit to being wrong or to having lost a deal......

In a letter to me sent by Kim Jong Un, he stated, very nicely, that he would like to meet and start negotiations as soon as the joint U.S./South Korea joint exercise are over. It was a long letter, much of it complaining about the ridiculous and expensive exercises. It was.....

From the OP article:

Pyongyang has repeatedly insisted the tests are a reaction to joint U.S.-South Korean military exercises, as well as Seoul’s import of F-35A stealth fighters from the United States. Trump appeared to accept that explanation. He offered no rebuttal to the idea that the exercises were not worthwhile, even though his own military say they are vital to maintain combat readiness.
