Shrieking heard from Jeffrey Epstein's jail cell the morning he died

Source: CBS

CBS News has learned that the morning of Jeffrey Epstein's death there was shouting and shrieking from his jail cell. Guards attempted to revive him while saying "breathe, Epstein, breathe."

Congress is the latest to start investigating Epstein's apparent suicide over the weekend, with new reports raising questions about the federal jail where he was being held. One of Epstein's guards at the Metropolitan Correctional Center on the night he died was reportedly not a regular corrections officer.

On Monday, Attorney General William Barr criticized the detention center where the disgraced financier was held. "We will get to the bottom of what happened and there will be accountability," Barr said. "I was appalled and frankly angry to learn of the MCC's failure to adequately secure this prisoner."

This story seems unclear--was Epstein shrieking? The guards? A third party?

He knew too much, and powerful people wanted him silenced. I also think Barr and others were involved ,and it was very well planned out. Also sounds like a Putin planned event . Was Epstein selling blackmail info to trump and Putin? Was Barr compromised into helping this get done for them?

9. But he also kept meticulous records & diaries. They may tell more than he ever would have.

Whether theres video of the cell or not is one thing, but video of the area LEADING to his cell should be available. A lot being made of him having no cellmate; thats not unusual for child molesters. Killing one of them makes you a hero in prison. Its also not unusual for rich people in his situation to try to kill themselves.

54. Yelling maybe, but shrieking? NO! Whatever happened, whether he killed himself or...

someone else did the deed, his death was assisted. He had too much info on rich and powerful people and he was not going to be allowed to stay alive.

Taken off suicide watch, cell mate taken out, surveillance camera conveniently not working, guards on extended overtime and not checking regularly, sheets or some such material allowed in cell strong enough to hang oneself with—all of that equals an assisted suicide/death if that's how it played out.

10. Since none of us knows what really happened

(yet, or maybe never), I'll posit this:

1. The shrieking was probably one of the correctional officers, knowing that this extremely high-profile prisoner's death would be blamed on them.

2. According to one report, Epstein, in consultation with prison psychologists and his lawyers, asked to be taken off suicide watch.

3. Knowing that his life was essentially over, and that to continue would be worse than death, he really did want to kill himself.

4. As per #3, perhaps his lawyers gave him the means to do it.

JMHO, of course.

Up till now, the story has been there was only ONE guard, working 5th day of overtime, who had not checked the cell every 30 minutes.
Now CBS sez "one" guard "was reportedly not a regular corrections officer."

I find the MSM stories very confusing.....

So, is/was Kelly Anne one of the Republican hierarchy "pass around chicks" ???????? How about Hope Hicks?????
Who else was/is in that group. I suppose not all the Repubs were in to pre-pubescents but felt they needed serviced by someone who wouldn't squeal to anyone and also women who considered it an honor and republican duty to help out in anyway possible.
Of course it seems more prevalent in Repubs that Dems, but the Dems have had their chicks also. Clinton & JFK especially.
(Although I still truly believe Lewinski was a set up by the Repubs, (was her name Tripp?) and the saving of a dress in a safe deposit box etc etc etc)

J Edgar had quite a load of "Kompromat" on everyone in office including Kennedy, but I'm sure nothing as salacious as Putin has on Trump, Senators, House Members and other high ranking men in the Federal government. There is no other reason for why all of this is happening.............

Besides, a picture doesn't show you a woman's class and/or social graces.

Did you see her in the oval office with a large group of people, sitting with her lower legs folded under her, with her high heels probably digging into the back cushion tweeting something..???????

Of course, anything goes when you have a president who displays his wife in porno photographs all over the internet.....LOL

I can't believe the whole thing has gotten to this point. The historians will some day be writing books on this like the have depicting the fall of the Roman Empire. This whole thing makes Caligula look like a children's book......

This photo was a portrait size mounted on the wall in the room he used as his office in his NY residence described as being as large and imposing as an embassy or smaller art museum, and purportedly the largest residence in the city.

A number of posts here assume that the shrieking and shouting was from Epstein and that the guards responded to it. But the story doesn't say that. From what is written, it could be that the shrieking/shouting was from the guards who discovered Epstein's body.

The article doesn't state it was Epstein's voice nor does it state it was from the guard(s) who found him. Did he have a cellmate who might have shrieked upon finding Epstein?

The article really needs to be clarified by CBS.

“Guards attempted to revive him while saying "breathe, Epstein, breathe." ”

Pretty obviously if the source of the facts could hear what the guards were shouting, then someone shouting “don’t kill me” would be equally clear. But despite the very next sentence stating who was shouting, people only see what they want.

23. I don't know

Shrieking is a very loud yell or scream... and I can't imagine a person hanging themselves chancing somebody discovering them too early by shrieking.

I also can't imagine guards who weren't even concerned enough to watch him properly suddenly caring enough to shriek. I mean I would shriek if I discovered my wife dead, but not Jeffrey Epstein.

I CAN however, imagine shrieking in terror if I was being murdered. That's shriek worthy.

All just my opinion of course. With every piece of news coming out, it just gets more and more suspicious instead of the other way around.

52. Well, that could be it. The guard, or guards, were not doing their job

and they panicked when they finally checked on him and found him dead. They would be in deep trouble! Was the irregular guard sent to distract them away from their duties? As in, "Hey guys! Look at the porn I downloaded on my phone!" Or, "I got cards and cash! Who likes poker?"

Or it could be one, "irregular," guard, with a job to do.

Names of the guards, please, and who assigned them!

And maybe Barr didn't know. I saw him this morning and he looked oddly disturbed, as if maybe his life - or his soul - was in danger.

It’s being used to spread FUD.

Fear. Uncertainty. Doubt.

Did he kill himself? We may never know. I think he probably did.

But the powers that be find all this confusion and distraction useful.

The Clinton conspiracy theory plays well with Trump’s base. Keeps them hating us while taking some of the light off the things lurking in Trump’s closet.

The Trump/Putin conspiracy theory certainly plays well with some members of our party (and there’s some justification to believe it, given Putin’s record).

Finally, just the fact that this situation exists creates a chilling effect and casts more doubt on facts.

You are going to sit there and say that when you have a client paying millions for you to work on his behalf, and your client wants to get off suicide watch, that you wouldn't seek to get your client taken off suicide watch?

65. Excuse me....

there are prisoner protocols on suicide attempts. And there are intake screening forms. His lawyer is going to have to think about it. Would my client still be alive???

Did Manning threaten suicide or attempt it?

66. Yes, Manning threatened suicide

Yes, Manning's lawyers objected to Manning being on suicide watch - calling it "torture".

And, yes, Manning's petition to be taken off suicide watch was enthusiastically supported by DUers.

I believe NOTHING they tell us on this subject
All a big smokescreen for something, anybody’s guess what.

76. So many different stories

If you read a lot of different web sites on his death it shows how much they are trying to cover up
Some say he was laying on his cot cause the blood was at the back of his head. So if he hung himself how would he be laying down when they found him? Other's say he hung himself with a sheet tied to a metal bed and was on his knees ,,,and if you believe that Bill Barr is going to make sure that there is accountability, there is a bridge for sale to Russia...Don't trust Barr as far as he could be thrown and that is not very far as he is a huge fat man..

79. Hmmm well it just keeps getting more interesting.

But I'll refrain from expounding. As I've been told repeatedly here, it's not okay to ask questions or to wonder about how this was handled. To do so is to indulge in conspiracy theories which makes us no better than them.

83. Hmmm. New reporting tonight that Epstein's autopsy found multiple broken bones in his neck.

@CarolLeonnig
NEW >>>> Jeff Epstein autopsy found multiple neck bone fractures, which can be caused by suicidal hanging -- but are more commonly found in homicidal strangulation.
