Pentagon Letter Undercuts Trump Assertion On Delaying Aid To Ukraine Over Corruption

Source: NPR

Earlier this week, President Trump cited concerns about corruption as his rationale for blocking security assistance to Ukraine. But in a letter sent to four congressional committees in May of this year and obtained by NPR, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy John Rood informs lawmakers that he has "certified that the Government of Ukraine has taken substantial actions to make defense institutional reforms for the purposes of decreasing corruption [and] increasing accountability."

The certification was required by law for the release of $250 million in security assistance for Ukraine. That aid was blocked by the White House until Sept. 11 and has since been released. It must be spent before Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year.

Pointed out that if corruption was the reason Trump was withholding aid, there would be no need for his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to be involved in this "whatsoever."

(depending on how the funding was authorized) that if they have it obligated (for some contract for goods/services during this FY - e.g., there was mention of purchasing some more "Javelins"), then the funding should be okay. However, any unobligated funds would go back into the treasury unless any of it was deemed for multiple years.

The end of FY spending frenzy has always been a feature of federal agencies!

and then, Trump thinks he is off the Mueller hook next, and immediately holds up the funds for "inter-agency" review, meaning State (flapping his jaw about get with RudyG) and Justice (flapping his jaw about get with Barr, my AG) and then sends a non-governmental personal employee RudyG to begin twisting arms in Ukraine wanting them to fabricate something against a political opponent.

Rudy says it (the State Dept. stuff) is all right on his phone.
Maybe one of the committees needs to look at whats' on RudyG's phone?
And what security clearances and protocols apply to a freak like RudyG or Dennis Rodman?
