McCain Institute head Kurt Volker steps down as US diplomat

Source: The State Press

Executive Director of the McCain Institute Kurt Volker resigned from his position as the U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Friday, following reports he corroborated with Ukraine and President Donald Trump.

Volker’s name was mentioned in the recent whistleblower complaint, which has sparked an impeachment inquiry for Trump. Trump has defended his actions, including a phone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky where Trump requested dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden.

...

According to the complaint, Volker helped organize meetings with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Ukrainian officials.

The complaint also alleges that Volker went to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, to help guide Ukraine officials on how to handle Trumps’s demands.

I want that stain of prison time, handcuffs, jumpsuit, etc, on their records for the rest of their lives.

They were part of this cabal AGAINST THE COUNTRY THEY CALL HOME...assuming they call the United States, home.

All you have to do, is change the events, and the names - and walla...so many indicted...what is the saying, if you don't know your history, you are bound to repeat it...or something like that.....

Being a "special envoy" to Ukraine is a line on his resume he'd rather forget.

From his current BGR Group bio:

Ambassador Volker is currently the Executive Director of the McCain Institute for International Leadership, a part of Arizona State University. He is also a non-resident Senior Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies and is a member of the Atlantic Council’s Strategic Advisory Group.

Additionally, he serves on the Board of Capital Guardian Funds Trust, the Hungarian Initiatives Foundation, the Atlantic Partnership (U.S.), and is a Trustee of IAU College in Aix-en-Provence, France.

Most of the republicans who get into trouble just brazen it out like what they did is just fine.

from Brian Stelter's newletter:

ASU's student paper with the scoop!

Friday evening's Kurt Volker resignation was first reported by Andrew Howard, the managing editor of The State Press, the independent student paper at Arizona State. The paper tweeted the scoop and followed with a story about ten minutes later, leading the CNNs of the world to race and confirm it. I called Howard to find out how he did it -- he said, "we always try to localize national issues and see how they can affect the university. When we found out that Volker worked for the university, we just started pursuing that story. That was really it..."

I work in University IT, and have been impressed that their website is still up, lol. I might reach out to them to find out how they managed it. Most of the time, I imagine they are seeing a few thousand visits per day...then this.
