GOP lawmaker blasts Trump for quoting pastor warning of civil war over impeachment

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) on Sunday criticized President Trump for quoting a pastor saying impeachment could trigger a "Civil War-like fracture" in the country.
"I have visited nations ravaged by civil war," Kinzinger tweeted.
"I have never imagined such a quote to be repeated by a President. This is beyond repugnant."
. . .
The rare rebuke from a Republican member of Congress came in response to Trump tweeting a quote from Pastor Robert Jeffress on Fox News.

(38,462 posts)"Beyond repugnant" is not OK. He drew the line on the wrong side of repugnant. Simple mistake.

(6,158 posts)so he is trying to intimidate the Senate into not removing him from office.
He's also terrorizing the citizenry with a warning that it could result in violence.
I'm pretty sure he wants his base to defend him, even if thousands or even tens of thousands die.
I don't think he realizes the jeopardy this would put him in.

Retweeting a tax-exempt christofascist advocating for American taxpayers to kill other American taxpayers is OK with you, Senate Majority Leader???
The orange menace should be impeached tomorrow morning and removed tomorrow afternoon for that one!!

(9,426 posts)Robert Jeffress has to say? He is one of those televangelists, stuffing his pockets with donations from pensioners. Any so called "preacher" who sticks his nose into politics needs to have their tax exempt status reviewed. Franklin Graham, are you listening? Falwell?

(30,724 posts)and he is a tehadist. He got his job by primarying someone who was not quite as conservative as he is.
He has said a few things critical of 45 recently. I think he is feeling beleaguered. He may be facing a primary challenge by a repiggie, someone even nuttier than he is. And he has a viable Democratic opponent.
Don't be fooled. This nutcase thinks it is perfectly okay for members of the military to stay at trump properties.
