Exclusive: U.S. military to send significantly more troops to Saudi Arabia - sources
1 MIN READ
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States is planning to send a large number of additional forces to Saudi Arabia following the Sept. 14 attack on its oil facilities, which Washington and Riyadh have blamed on Iran, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request to comment. The sources did not specify exactly how many troops would be deployed but said it was expected to be in the thousands.

We should consider, and prepare for, Trump "wagging-the-dog" by starting a major war with Iraq.

(75 posts)I'm currently in college, having earned my blood money for school via the military. It kills me to see these young folks doing exactly what you cite. I'm not sure many of them even read actual print news sites. Sure it was in vogue to poop on the major players one time (see Chomsky) but even he wasn't calling for throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Chomsky even said in a recent interview as much. Sure NYT Et al. have problems but they do a decent job more than 50% of the time. But there is a noticeable drift from reading actual news. And not even from the extremes either, like Truthout etc.
What I notice mainly is large amounts of 'virtue signaling' among my peers. But most of their 'outrage' is informed via social media and it rarely touches on actual issues that impact people's lives both in the US and abroad. This is where I become conspiratorial. As I firmly believe the DNC and GOP work to achieve such an effect.
You no doubt are spot on about the consolidation & corporatization of media. Which has given way to the dangerous 'citizen journalists.' Not saying all are garbage, but most are. And it is theses fools people are getting their 'news' from.
oh, and then this happened:

I wonder how much cognitive dissonance the little MAGAt brains can take? I know, I am being condescending, but actions do speak louder than words.
There has to be at least a moment of, "Huh?"

I only hope the military slow walks this spring board to war with Iran.
