Suit says feds using immigration marriage interviews as trap

BALTIMORE (AP) — Alyse and Elmer Sanchez were thrilled when they survived their "green card" interview, a crucial step in obtaining lawful status in the United States. She texted her family from the immigration office as relief washed over her: The officer had agreed that their marriage is legitimate.

Moments later, Elmer was in shackles, detained pending deportation to his native Honduras, leaving her alone with their two little boys.

"We feel it was a trap, a trick, to get us there," Alyse said.

The Sanchezes have joined five other couples in a class action accusing federal agents of luring families to marriage interviews in Baltimore, only to detain the immigrant spouse for deportation.

Khashoggi, 59, walked into the consulate at 1:14 p.m. on Oct. 2 to get a copy of his divorce papers so he could marry his Turkish fiancée, Hatice Cengiz. He never walked out.

Cengiz, 36, who accompanied Khashoggi to the consulate, waited outside of the building for Khashoggi for 11 hours.

Just saying...

2. Citizens, your rights have been stolen too...right to love and marry freely. Right to your father.

The GOP has solidified it status as a party that despises the most basic compassion.

Why do you hate marriage, GOP?

Why do you break up nuclear families?

Why do you want this woman and children to go on welfare?

If she claimed he was not her husband but hired to merely be her landscaper, or to pluck chickens, or that he was a special-talent model, would you let him stay for a while, until the job was done?

Show a child holding up a small American flag —. “I was born here, I am a U.S citizen, can my mother come take care of me?”
DENIED!

Show a Melania-lookalike, half-nekkid, saying in a sultry voice “there is a lonely rich man who wants me to come (wink wink) model for him. Can I come to America and be his third wife?”
APPROVED!

Show a couple of cartoonish rich guys looking out over their chicken factory and their golf resort saying in unison, “we’re a couple of greedy rich guys that needs cheap frightened labor. We will hire them and the last thing we want you to do is give them any rights!”
WINK WINK!

5. It reminds me of an episode of this new show,

"Evil" on CBS. Most of the "possession" or haunting stories reported to the Catholic Church for investigation can be explained by normal phenomenom (a partially occluded drain in a dishwasher, someone hacking an Alex device, etc), but there is a continuing presence of a PhD psychologist who is just plain evil. He tries to undo what is good.

In the last episode, a 14 year old boy was charged with a felony as an adult. The nonbeliever, moral, woman psychologist had told the court she opines the boy should not be charged as an adult, but a juvenile. The evil psychologist sought to undo it. When she asked why, he replied that an innocent boy going to prison would change him and his destiny, especially after being raped a dozen times. MF45, Stephen Miller, et al, remind me of the evil dr. "Let's see how many lives we can destroy!" They are EVIL!

The show leaves a few details unanswered or partially answered, leaving room for speculation about supernatural intervention. The plots are interesting, the characters feel real, and the show is very engaging. I can't wait until Thursday nights again.
