Romney slams ceasefire deal, calls Trump's Syria move 'a bloodstain' in US history

Source: the hill.

By Jordain Carney - 10/17/19 03:41 PM EDT

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) ripped the administration over the recently announced ceasefire in Syria, calling President Trump's decision to withdraw troops "a bloodstain in the annals of American history."

"The announcement today is being portrayed as a victory. It is far from a victory. Serious questions remain about how the decision was reached precipitously to withdraw from Syria and why that decision was reached," Romney said.
................................

Under the agreement Pence said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan agreed to halt Turkey’s offensive in Syria for 120 hours in order to allow Kurdish YPG forces to evacuate. The agreement will also maintain a “permanent ceasefire” once the evacuation is complete.

Romney added the administration needs to explain what the U.S. role will be moving forward. And the ceasefire, he argued, does not change that the United States "abandoned" the Kurds.

"Adding insult to dishonor, the administration speaks cavalierly, even flippantly, even as our ally has suffered death and casualty," Romney said. "We once abandoned a red line. Now we abandon an ally."

"The decision to abandon the Kurds violates one of our most sacred duties. It strikes at American honor. What we have done to the Kurds will stand as a bloodstain in the annals of American history," Romney continued................................

I read he’ll be holding fundraisers for Republican Senators in close races, like Susan Collins.

Yeah, he’s a real big help.

"Serious questions remain about how the decision was reached precipitously to withdraw from Syria and why that decision was reached".

Don't you know, Mittens? Trump consulted "His Gut", which is far smarter and more accurate than any General, any NSC member, any Senator or Congressman. "The Gut" is legendary. It precedes Trump wherever he goes, and it gets a first-gut look at things before his brain enters the room. Most times his brain never catches up to "The Gut".

I'm surprised Mittens didn't know this. I thought all republican Senators bowed down in the presence of "The Gut".

So, they were given 5 days to abandon their heavy weapons and retreat from a 20 mile zone in northern Syria. Where are they going to retreat to? That area is occupied by Syrian and Russian forces intent on killing them. This disaster is far from over. But, at least, this agreement saves Trump Towers, Istanbul, and isn't that the bottom line?

Within about an hour of the United States Vice President Mike Pence announcing a negotiated “cease fire” in Turkey’s attack on the Kurdish people living in northeastern Syria, the Kurds flatly rejected the deal. They said that the agreement meant they would be forced to abandon the territory that has served as home to the otherwise stateless people since 2012, when Syrian forces withdrew from the region. As The Inquisitr reported, foreign policy experts also quickly blasted the deal announced by Pence as a “surrender.”

the "Loyalty Pledge to Trump" being circulated by Leningrad Lindsey? Sorry, I do not trust any repub. They say one thing, but mean another. They are all terrified of something, either Russian money they accepted or scandals tRump has proof of on them. True patriots put country first, and none of the gop seem to think that is necessary.
