House GOP members are 'absolutely disgusted and exhausted' by Trump's behavior

Source: CNN

(CNN) Former Republican congressman Charlie Dent said Thursday some of his former colleagues in the House of Representatives have privately told him they are "absolutely disgusted and exhausted by the President's behavior."

Dent told CNN's Ana Cabrera on "Newsroom" that House Republicans are standing with the President at the moment because of base pressure, but said "they resent being put in this position all the time."

Dent, who is a CNN political commentator, cited the Trump administration trying to "pivot from the Ukraine scandal" by announcing the 2020 G7 summit at the Trump National Doral resort. The decision was later reversed.

“Moving from one corrupt act to another," Dent said. "I mean those types of head-exploding moments are just I think infuriating these members and I think they'd like to step out but they just can't because of their base at the moment."

The GOPers' capacity to swallow hard knows no boundaries. They'll turn themselves inside out to keep from being killed by tweet.

(I'm re-reading my small post and I'm astounded by writing this truth. It's as if the Congressional GOPers have deleted a large slice of their humanity and have become Trumpian automatons. They have no power to act on their own thoughts and feelings. It's as plain as day, yet MILLIONS continue to vote these empty suits into office.)

Yes, we have a right to know how the people who represent us in the House and Senate vote, but in this case, our interests would be best served by a Senate impeachment trial that ended is a secret ballot.

I have very little doubt Trump would go down if these cowards could hide behind a veil of anonymity.

They haven't broken into a sweat.

They can do something about it, like get a backbone. But that is not in the cards.

They look weak and vulnerable when they show no backbone. Country is put dead last. Honor is nowhere to be found. The soul is lost. Dark money rules. Putin could not be more happy.

Why do they with trump promote Putin and Russian propaganda , and attack Americans with lies while praising trump when they know trump is undermining our Democracy, lying about criminal acts rigging an election then try to manufacture false evidence against their opposition, exactly like Putin has done, while they do nothing? Because they were caught criminally by Putin, and so compromised they have to be assets for Putin now.

Orders and Bills that coincide with their greed and whites-only ideology. Interestingly, the latter is the only one that carries the day, because most are like us, struggling to survive and can't see that he has done zero for them economically. Example is the stock market. Doing very well, but half of Americans own no stock. The "base" also will dig in even deeper the more he is held to account. They will not admit anything he does is, or has been wrong, let alone illegal. My hope is that the evidence becomes even more overwhelming so that at least some of the base will finally get it?

Ive noticed that posts and articles sometimes like to play up disagreements and discord within both parties - controversy sells and gets lotsa clicks.

But in this case - this article is just a whole lot of nothing.
