Democrats obtained phone records showing how Trump allies coordinated 'false narratives'
Source: CNN
(CNN)Armed with never-before-seen phone records, Democrats on Tuesday accused President Donald Trump's allies of coordinating with a conservative journalist to peddle "false narratives" about Trump's opponents as part of his multi-pronged pressure campaign on Ukraine.
The House Intelligence Committee's impeachment report -- which was made public Tuesday -- says the committee's top Repubican, Rep. Devin Nunes of California, was linked to that effort.
The records, according to Intelligence Committee member Rep. Eric Swalwell, were subpoenaed from third-parties.
"Mr. Solomon was not working alone," the report said of conservative journalist John Solomon's articles throughout 2019 that spread Trump-backed conspiracies about Ukraine. "As further described below, there was a coordinated effort by associates of President Trump to push these false narratives publicly, as evidenced by public statements, phone records, and contractual agreements."

Bob Cusack, editor in chief of The Hill newspaper, tweeted out a statement on Tuesday mere moments after the House Intelligence Committee revealed that former Hill columnist John Solomon had been in contact with Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, and Giuliani associate Lev Parnas this past April and May.
The Hill is conducting a meticulous review of opinion columns written by John Solomon on the subject of Ukraine that will be handled by a team of editors and reporters, Cusack wrote. All results of the review will be transparent and public.
The Hills newsroom has a decades-long history of commitment to fair and non-partisan reporting. Our reporters and editors cover Congress, the White House and national politics without bias or agenda and will continue to do so, he added.
Cusacks statement comes on the heels of The Hills declaration earlier this month that they would be reviewing Solomons past work on Ukraine after his name came up in various impeachment witness testimonies. The paper, meanwhile, is owned by Jimmy Finkelstein, a longtime pal of President Donald Trump. Solomon, who is now a Fox News contributor, left The Hill earlier this fall.

IIRC, Firtash paid Parnas. Parnas paid Giuliani.
Firtash is linked to Manafort and Russian organized crime. A RUSSIAN MOBSTER WHO IS INDICTED FOR BRIBERY IS PAYING TRUMP'S PERSONAL ATTORNEY GIULIANI WHO IS TRYING TO FRAME UKRAINE FOR RUSSIA'S 2016 ELECTION INTERFERENCE THEREBY REHABILITATING RUSSIA SO THAT SANCTIONS CAN BE LIFTED AND REHABILITATING MANAFORT SO THAT HE DOESN'T FLIP AGAINST TRUMP?
Firtash, Firtash, Trump, Firtash, Putin, Firtash, Putin, Manafort, Giuliani, Trump. All need to be mentioned together all the time.

(11,885 posts)Committing crimes and tried to cover it up, obstructed, and got caught now, and they are desperate to come up with excuses to use to dismiss what they did. Its all falling apart, and exposing them more every day , which will be continuing for a long while. Republican Senators if they don't hold him accountable, they are really allowing our elections to be fixed by other countries. That happened already once when putin fixed our last election. Is that really what republican Reps and Senators want? Then ivankie and jr their next bosses?

(7,810 posts)Nunes, who sits on the House Intel Cte, coordinated with agents of an indicted Ukrainian with Russian mob ties. He was intel chair, in which he disingenuously 'investigated' suspicious WH behavior, getting WH talking points in midnight rendevous with the WH...then he daily trashed any oversight efforts as ranking member during recent hearings.
How can he not be considered a mole? A spy? Highly suspect at a minimum? Shouldn't anything he has said or written be newly scrutinized in this context?
Anytime his name is mentioned, Firtash, Parnas, and Giuliani should also be mentioned. He appears to be dirty, treacherous, up to his cowbell in the biggest scandal in US political history.

(12,801 posts)Like when you have a lie you want to tell, but you need to gin up other stuff to support the lie, so you make up more lies so the first one sounds more believable, but these new lies beget more lies for context, etc., until you have a "web of lies" or "conspiracy of lies" or a "false narrative."
Lies are lies.
