LAREDO, TexasNearly three years into the Trump administration, almost no border wall has been built in Texas. Local property owners ranging from ranchers to a Catholic diocese and institutions have resisted federal efforts to claim their land.
The resistance in South Texas, where most land is privately owned, illustrates the challenges in building a border wall, even if funding is available.

(15,805 posts)Even the most loyal Trumpists are going to fight when it comes to protecting their land. No doubt Trump's circle of ass kissers likely told him the land owners would pose no problem and he could quickly claim their land for his wall with no fuss.
Surprise! Now they've locked Trump into court proceedings that will drag on for years while the courts continue to deny him access to unappropriated taxpayer money.

Texas is one of the states that push hardest against Mexican immigration but they are certainly not willing to ante up!

(8,909 posts)was that the landowners actually voted for Pendejo45 and approved of a wall being built,
until they found out that the government wanted to claim (eminent domain) parts of THEIR property.
So they're fine with the wall as long as it was on someone else's property.
I think they call that, hypocrites.
