Defeated governor pardoned violent criminals in a spree lawyers are calling an 'atrocity of justice'

Source: Washington Post

Matt Bevin is no longer the governor of Kentucky, but his decisions continued to send shock waves through the state’s legal system this week after he issued pardons for hundreds of people, some of whom committed violent offenses.

Bevin issued 428 pardons since his defeat to Democrat Andy Beshear in a close election in November, the Louisville Courier Journal reported. His list includes a man convicted of reckless homicide, a convicted child rapist, a man who murdered his parents at age 16 and a woman who threw her newborn in the trash after giving birth in a flea market outhouse.

He also pardoned Dayton Jones, who was convicted in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy at a party, Kentucky New Era reported.

It is not unusual for governors to issue pardons as they leave office, but Bevin’s actions boggled some of the state’s attorneys, who questioned his judgment.

Or perhaps releasing violent criminals back into the populace is payback for his loss--he wants to unleash a wave of crime to punish folks for not voting him back in. Such sociopathy wouldn't be out of line for a puke.

Imagine Trump's Pardons should he lose.............

I am not looking forward to Election Night and the next day. No matter who wins, I predict anarchy in America. Sorry, I hope I am wrong. But given the multitude of Republicans involved I have to consider their behavior this past three years and would put nothing past the Republican Party doing anything and everything to stay in power. If he is elected I predict that it will be Katie Bar The Door.

I cannot imagine, even if the Dems win, the Republicans allowing the Dem candidate to take office.....
The Repubs have a lot at stake, including putting the final nail in the coffin for a complete coup, destroying Democracy un-lawfully and un-constituionally. They need Trump to win to complete their final checkmate move of installing a Dictator Fascist government

If by some miracle the Dem wins and the Republican Party allows the Dem to take office, can you just imagine what Trump can do via presidential orders in the months after the election he is still in power.....Just look at what this A** loser governor is doing with his powers before the newly elected Governor takes office........ Look at all the other Republican Governors who have lost elections and are using their power to take away all the power and duties of the new governor.

Some say he can't/won't do this or that. Good luck with that line of reasoning. He could and most certainly would declare that the Dem's cheated and won, suspend the confirmation of the Democrat President until the fraud is investigated. An investigation that could take years by his pet poodle mr. Barr. The Republicans have every single thing they need to take control and over throw the election.....They own the DOJ, They own the Supreme court, they own the Republican Senate, the own the presidency........ Have I forgotten anyone who could possibly offer any kind of law and order or enforce the constitution to stop them????????

one to accept defeat. Nor is the Republican Senate, nor is the Republican Party. Trump's psychiatric make-up, when defied, is best paraphrased by: "I'll show you"

This alone is my biggest fear, and should be the entire nations greatest fear.........

With the Republicans going for the Grand Slam and rigging the election in every single manner they can, (including Putin's help It will be somewhat of a miracle if Trump doesn't win the election by a landslide........

As we watch what unfolds the next eleven months you will see things from them that you wouldn't be able to imagine in your wildest imagination.......
And, as we watch the election night and the next day, I predict we all will see things happen that we have never seen in the entire history of the U.S........And that none of us could even conceive would ever take place......

For FORTY YEARS this group of Republicans has been chipping away, from every direction, at our Democracy and Constitution. They are quite literally millimeters away from their objective of installing a Corporate Fascist Government. They will pull all stops these next months and will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to complete their COUP of our Democracy......

And if, by some miracle, Trump loses, the Republicans control EVERYTHING in Gov't and they won't let that happen, anymore than they did in 2000 & 2004. In addition, his band of merry Trumphumpers, 50M strong will take to the streets in protest.......
Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld tried to shove thru a repeal of the Posse Comataus Act and failed thank goodness. I doubt that they will fail a second time around. Then, it's Katie Bar The Door, people......

I hope that I am wrong...........but if you look objectively at all the things that they have done, and all the things they are doing it is hard to imagine that we can pull off what would at this point amount to a miracle............

Every way any of us turns, they have placed a wall. "The rule of law", or "the courts have ruled",......The enforcement group is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republicans and Trump with Barr running it........."We'll take it to the highest court in the land"....It has been shown time and time again that the Republicans, now more than ever, own the Supreme Court......"we'll take it to the Media to make our case".......They own the predominate amount of ALL media, radio, print, TV, cable......"We will rely on the police and military if need be to protect us and Democracy" good luck with that one, you are in for a BIG SURPRISE regarding which way the military and police will go.....
They have done an incredible job of masterminding, organizing and orchestrating this for forty years, and they are coming to a crescendo right here, right now.............

It is an old fashion kingly power left over from feudalism. Why does the executive branch even need such a limitless power? If we we have a functioning justice system, this pardon power would be useless.

And now the GOP has weaponized it.

Truly, honestly, and sincerely......WTF does anyone expect from any Republican, much less one from Mitch's home state.......

They should build a wall around that state, (and a few others) and throw some food in every once in a while and let them go after each other instead of the population of the U.S.

This Republican Party and voters, could build a 100 story skyscraper in the shape of the $ sign and gather every day around it's base to worship their "GOD"............

All that is going on is completely and thoroughly un-fathomable.......It is like anarchy, without the violence...YET.......

Bevin pardoned the 500 people who were most likely to reoffend if they ever got out of jail. Six months from now, when Kentucky is in the midst of a crime spree, all the hard-right papers and hard-right TV commentators in the state will publish “Beshear is presiding over the biggest crime wave in Kentucky’s history” articles.

Quick question: When Bevin’s pardonees go back into the crime business, can Bevin be charged as an accessory?

Matt Bevin just showed us what a P O S he really is. The people of KY should not allow him a moment's peace for what he's done. He didn't even allow the families of victims to know that their abuser/rapist/murder was released. WTF is that all about ? It's NOT how a decent man operates.

The next time some republican starts lecturing on law and order, tell them that they lost the moral high ground a long time ago.
