Social media messages went crazy during Saturday’s annual Army-Navy football game as cadets were spotted using upside-down “OK” hand gestures associated with the movements of white nationalists.

Reporting from ESPN broadcasting the game has made the rounds online showing West Point cadets and midshipmen from the Naval Academy flashing the upside-down “OK” symbol while journalist Rece Davis delivered a pregame report.

Newsweek details the gesture has had worldwide notoriety for being a sign that shows one is in agreement with someone else but has been commandeered by the modern white nationalist movement. The gesture is now considered an extremist gesture and noted as such by the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil rights group, just recently in September.

The ADL mentions in regards to the symbol that “particular care must be taken not to jump to conclusions about the intent behind someone who has used the gesture.” The 2017 article from the ADL reads that the “okay” hand gesture represents the letters “wp” or “white power” in a hoax by members of the bulletin website 4chan, which would eventually become a successful troll to liberals.

Hope it was worth pissing away your future over, Mongo.

NATURALLY, all the alt-rightwankers on Twitter are REEEEEEing "It's teh circle game!" and "What about all the times black people have made that gesture???? Chetmake, litbards!!" (There's even a picture of Eddie Murphy making the "OK" gesture from over three decades ago being circulated by morons in support of this idiocy.) Man, these "clever" little boys are in for a shock when we stop playing this charade altogether and ignore their cries that they were "just joking" and demands for leniency and mercy that they themselves would deny us. They want a future in which we are all dead or subjugated. The only question is: will we allow it.

while in UNIFORM should face immediate court martial. There is NO PLACE in our ranks of service members for this kind of behavior.

He knows the military well and said that this IS a big deal to them and they will make sure that those who did it are held accountable, even if it is some "back at you" thing some do in jest and isn't White Power. The military brass take this sort of thing VERY seriously, he said.

The radiographic view of a lateral hand is essentially a positional refinement of the "OKAY" sign, now it's asking patients to make a politically incorrect gesture and image it! Arrrgh. However, on occasion I've also taken a few lacerated distal 3rd fingers, requiring them to make the most rude American gesture of all when a standard lateral digit is uncomfortable.
I feel like I need a specialized radiographic marker to place with these imaging a tiny print legal disclaimer.

They can make a thumbs-up signal, or something else.
This upside down "OK" sign is just not acceptable anymore.

What if they take up the images of Dr. King (or any other light maker) as their logo?

And I'm pretty sure the upside down "ok" hand symbol in particular has been a white supremacist gang sign well before the 4chan "prank".
