FBI investigating British socialite and others who 'facilitated' Epstein
Source: Reuters
The FBI is investigating British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and several other people linked to U.S. financier Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, according to two law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.
They said a principal focus of the FBIs investigation is Maxwell, a longtime associate of Epstein, and other people who facilitated Epsteins allegedly illegal behaviour.
Maxwell has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing. Her lawyers Jeffrey Pagliuca and Ty Gee did not respond to a request for comment.
The FBI also is following up on many leads received from women who contacted a hotline the agency set up at its New York field office in the wake of Epsteins arrest in July, the sources said. One of the sources said the probe remains at an early stage.

You've got to wonder what the word "facilitated" means in terms of the FBI's investigation.
My mind immediately jumped to the following conversation:
"What time will you be home, dear?"
"Not sure, hon. I've got some facilitating I've got to get done."

Maybe if the people who feed sex slaves to the wealthy go to jail for 20 years apiece, it might be harder to rape 100 little girls like Epstein did. Then there is the Acosta guy who only slapped his wrists ever so slightly when he was caught.
If only....

(4,619 posts)Nevermind.
Our Attorney General spends his time looking under 2016 rocks for FBI agents who didn't cross t's and dot i's.
No time to track down sexual predators who own investment funds, even with thousands of leads, and witnesses willing to swear under oath, and take lie detector tests.

(8,038 posts)this situation. Those involved should be punished! Of course she'll probably end up in a country in which we don't have an extradition agreement.

(15,035 posts)No reasonable person should expect any kind of "justice" from the orange creature and people like Barr who serve him. And the FBI is part of (Trump toadie) William Barr's "Justice Dept."
Then again, FBI Director Christopher Wray seems to be a decent man doing his job. And unfortunately, we know how long decent people doing their jobs under the orange creature last.
