1. NBA suspends season due to coronavirus

The NBA has suspended its season due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The announcement came after a confusing mid-game suspension of play between the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder. The NBA announced a player tested positive for coronavirus.

"The NBA announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19<' the league said in a statement. "The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of tonight’s game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. At that time, tonight’s game was canceled. The affected player was not in the arena."

"The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice," it added. "The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic."

12. Doesn't have to be

He has been around his team mates, and any one of them could be carrying it
Which means that any team they've played over the past 10-14 days, could also be carrying

16. And I'm sure they'll be tested.

He'll have to contact everyone he's been in contact with.

17. Yes, they will

But I took the tenor of the above post to be, "They didn't have to suspend the game as he was not there."
If that was his assertion, then I disagree
If it wasn't... I misread it

4. that leather ball is probably an excellent transmission medium

handled by dozens of people, many of them sweating
and those people go on to handle balls with dozens of others every couple days

and Mr. Gobert could easily have been carrying for the last week or more

6. I'm also thinking about baseball right now.

All that spitting, pitchers licking their fingers to get a better grip, Puig licking his bat, and fielders spitting into their gloves. Batting gloves get "loaded up" too.

Plus, 30-50,000 fans breathing on each other.

At least Trump is remaining calm while reality smacks us in the face. The deplorables got the president they deserve. We got screwed bigly.

21. ..which I am not at all comfortable with.

The NHL without a dangerous Wings team is simply not as fun.

...I've only recently gotten completely over 1997.

5. So why

Are they continuing college basketball tournaments? Here in KC they are allowing essential personnel and family of players to attend. I think it should all be suspended.

15. Right now, the Mariners are trying to find an alternative sight for their 7 games at home

A friend of mine pointed out, if the Yankees can't play at home, MLB will likely suspend.
Toss-n if it happens to the Dodgers, Red Sox and Cubs and they definitely won't play

13. Didn't see that coming

Should have, I guess. That's going to have some ripples. Then again, it's only a suspension, for now. I'd rather watch them on TV anyway.

What next?
