Trump Lashes Out at Fauci Amid Criticism of Slow Virus Response
Source: New York Times
WASHINGTON — President Trump publicly signaled his frustration on Sunday with Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the federal government’s top infectious disease expert, after the doctor said more lives could have been saved from the coronavirus if the country had been shut down earlier. Mr. Trump reposted a Twitter message that said “Time to #FireFauci” as he rejected criticism of his slow initial response to the pandemic that has now killed more than 22,000 people in the United States. The president privately has been irritated at times with Dr. Fauci, but the Twitter post was the most explicit he has been in letting that show publicly. The message Mr. Trump retweeted came from a former Republican congressional candidate. “Fauci is now saying that had Trump listened to the medical experts earlier he could’ve saved more lives,” said the tweet by DeAnna Lorraine, who got less than 2 percent of the vote in an open primary against Speaker Nancy Pelosi last month. “Fauci was telling people on February 29th that there was nothing to worry about and it posed no threat to the US at large. Time to #Fire Fauci.” Read more: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/12/us/politics/trump-fauci-coronavirus.html The Doctor may soon be spending more time with his family. ![]()

4. The personnel policy of the Trump Administration, although he doesn't follow all of them himself:
LAW 4: ALWAYS SAY LESS THAN NECESSARY. • The more you say, the less impressive and in-control you seem to be and the higher the chance that you’d say something foolish. • Powerful people tend to say little. This makes them impressive and intimidating; people can’t guess what they’re thinking and hang on to their every word and reaction. Short answers and silences also put people on the defensive; when they try to fill the silence by talking, they give away useful information. 11. trumps lashing out against those that speak the truth
Has always been a pattern from trump. He then picks a fight , makes false claims by lying , then exaggerates the lies to use to fired them with. Anyone who doesn't promote him over the truth is fair game for him. I expect rumps false claims against him are about to happen , and trump will have others doing the same thing.

13. Yikes!
... goes against the Party Line. I watched some FOX "News" this weekend and they are all in with the "President Trump acted early and boldly, saving lives" theme. They show carefully selected clips of Pelosi implying the Corona-virus was not a threat. The good doctor is not going along with the program.

14. Meet Deanna Lorraine (RW nutjob/Corona conspiracist)
https://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/failed-congressional-candidate-deanna-lorraines-new-crusade-coronavirus-conspiracy-theories/
DeAnna Lorraine, a right-wing activist who unsuccessfully ran in the Mar. 3 California primary to challenge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is now pushing new conspiracy theories about COVID-19, promoting the hashtags #coronavirustruth and #filmyourhospital. On Sunday, Lorraine filmed outside two hospitals in Los Angeles and found them quiet—which she took as a sign that the hospitals and mainstream media are engaged in a hoax, rather than a simpler alternative explanation, which is that hospitals aren’t allowing any visitors to try to protect their patients and prevent further spread of the virus. “Let’s get #FilmYourHospital trending,” Lorraine tweeted Sunday afternoon. As of early Monday morning, that message had been retweeted more than 15,000 times and people were taking her up on the challenge, filming quiet hospital parking lots as if they were revealing yet another mainstream media plot. The hashtag has also attracted outrage from medical professionals and others who are warning that this kind of disinformation is threatening people’s lives. Lorraine was back at it on Monday morning, tweeting messages like “I’m sure we would all like the actual #Coronavirustruth” and “How many people do you personally know with #COVID19.” She asserted that, “The FDA has never been interested in cures or safety.” -more- |

16. It's all about controlling the narrative with Trump,
I don't know how many times I have heard Trump supporters say that Trump did all that he could. Trump has been repeating that narrative over and over again at his virus rallies. His 1 claim to fame is sealing the border with China which also was a lie, 40,000 people came here from China, some from Wuhan, after Trump "sealed" the border.
Fauci is working on Trump's virus team and he isn't following the talking points which usually means certain firing. The problem for Trump is that Fauci is very popular and he is weighing if canning him will be politically positive with his base. If he fires Fauci he is toast. Trump should stick to blaming China, our governors, our states, Obama, Hillary will be next, because Trump is boxed in a corner and there are few good ways out. |

18. "Keep Fauci, fire TRUMP"
This will go against the grain for the gop. They support incompetence 100%. They are not immune, maybe if one of their family members gets the virus, they will see things in a different light? Nah, that would make them human, and THAT is not the gop way. Besides, THEY have their Cadillac insurance. That saved the vile Rand Paul.

20. Trump doing what Trump does best.
Lashing out. Unfortunately the corona virus doesn't give one tiny shit how much Trump lashes out against anything. Trump is oblivious to the reality of this situation, so he'll still be lashing out as a private citizen from Mar-ma-lardo (or hopefully, prison) next January.

29. Based on past experience, if trump fires Fauci, his zombie followers will turn on Fauci.
I wish there would be fall-out, but there won't, not on the right anyway.
I think the only upside would be that Joe Biden could hire Fauci and start a REAL national response plan. Work with the Governors, and show everybody what it would look like if we had a responsible, competent president with an actual, coordinated national response plan. In a few weeks the deaths in the southern states will start ramping up, and maybe then the trump followers (some of them anyway) will get a clue and vote in their own best interest. |
