(WI) State Supreme Court won't hear Voter ID cases

Source: WISN Television news

The state Supreme Court denied a request Thursday afternoon to hear the Voter ID cases.
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen asked Wisconsin's high court to take up the issue last month.
That request came after a Dane County judge overturned the law back in July, saying it impaired the right of some citizens to vote.

The court denied Van Hollen's request to bypass the Court of Appeals and have the Supreme Court take up the case first.

"I am very disappointed that the Supreme Court has failed to act by denying the motions to consolidate these actions, bypass the Court of Appeals, and stay the injunctions against the Voter ID law. ... Despite this setback, I continue to believe that the Voter ID law is constitutional and I will continue the battle to have the law upheld," Van Hollen said in a statement.

This means that voters most likely will not have to show a photo ID at the polls in November.

I do think it might be a good idea in some of these states that will be in effect this Nov. to request the polls be extended on election night. Most of the battle grounds close at 7 or 8 local time. Here in NY we have the longest election day voting window. We vote for 15 hours, 6 AM to 9 PM. The Gop will complain , however the dems should counter this by requesting all the polls in the entire state be left open for longer periods. In the past the dems ask for dem counties to be left open only. This is just a thought.

These assholes never know when to quit - or when they're beaten. Just look at the choice issue. How many of them, when they're trying to get into power, they invariably say "Roe v Wade is settled law..." but damn if they don't move heaven and earth to whittle away at it as relentlessly as possible if they manage to seize power.

SHEESH.

I'm still just freakin' STUNNED at the very idea of limiting the right to vote. That is the most un-American campaign I've ever seen. It's outrageously unpatriotic. And these are the same folks who love to wrap themselves in the flag.

I say surprised because the pukes have a majority on the supreme court that thus far has given Wanker and Van Holler almost everything they asked for (demanded). Don't know why they stopped here but I'm glad they did!

The Wisconsin Supreme Court is just trying to preserve their image of integrity while they await the opportunity to reverse the decision that ruled Act 10 unconstitutional.
