Manchester State Rep faces criticism, calls for resignation after comments against Biden accuser

Source: Manchester Link

MANCHESTER, N.H. — State Representative Richard Komi (D-Manchester) is facing criticism after a tweet he made on Friday disputing sexual assault claims made by Tara Reade, a former staffer of former U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.

In the tweet, Komi disputed Reade’s claim that Biden inserted his fingers into her vagina, saying that would not be possible without “cooperation.”

When reached for comment on Friday evening, Komi had remorse for how he shared his opinion, but not for his support of Biden.

“I wish I had worded my words more appropriately. It was not intended to lessen the pain that sexual assault survivors face all their lives,” he said “I do not believe Joe (Biden) is the type of person who would do anything to hurt a woman.”

Dems should not apologize for things they say about liars that are out to destroy a man for political reasons.

cooperate with their attackers to be sexually assaulted in this way. Its like saying rape could be prevented by crossing their legs. I don't know if he should resign or not but he is a knuckle head and I don't know that I would want to be represented by anyone this stupid or insensitive. He really needs to walk this one back with more than I'm sorry before I'd give him a pass.

I believe Joe Biden is being accused of something that never happened. But we don't need to defend him with this kind of insensitive dumbfuckery.

We don't lie about even liars. That's something they'd do and we ain't them.

Come on, that’s not true.

Even though this story is likely bogus, saying things like that create false impressions about sexual assault.

Too many democrats lashing out in anger and ignorance are revealing a contempt for women that is standing in the way of achieving democracy.

It is not just men either.

H. Clinton was up against a lot worse in 2016..

If democrats cannot handle this we are in trouble. What are we going to do when Russia revs ☝

Biden seems to be handling himself well. Instead of misguided attempts to defend him people should follow his approach. Refrain from ugly personal attacks

Democrats should not be smearing poor and middle income people for having declared bankruptcy. Please considerr allthe voters facing bankruptcy right now.

Sorry, I don't believe her and I think she is a lying, thieving ne'er do well. And I particularly dislike these political liars as they will destroy Me Too and for what in an attempt to make Sanders the nominee or reelect Putin's puppet Trump (she loves Putin)?

makes me wonder what any Democrat would have to do or say to need to resign.

Of course, in reality, we do have different standards than the republicans, and we should maintain them. Yes, he should resign.
