Democratic Party moves to boot Crawford

Source: Rome News-Tribune

The Democratic Party of Georgia will take steps to remove state Rep. Rick Crawford from the ballot, after the Cedartown Democrat announced he intends to switch parties if he is re-elected in November.

The party’s executive committee met Thursday night and “voted unanimously to accept his obvious resignation from the party,” committee member Wendy Davis of Rome said.

“We haven’t finished the legal research, and we know he can’t be replaced at this late date, but he is no longer our nominee,” Davis said.

Crawford has held the House District 16 seat since 2007, taking over when Democrat Bill Cummings of Rockmart retired after 26 years as Polk County’s representative.

This party-switching in Georgia has been absurd.

The rep for my hometown in Georgia switched after being re-elected for this term. He has now announced that he will not run again. He would have lost.

Crawford said he felt announcing his intention to switch parties ahead of the vote is “the honest way to go about it.”

Really?
After they probably had workers paid by the DNC, used DNC infrastructure of fund raising, phone banking, signage, and fees to get him on the ballot?

Obama announced support of marriage equality, not 'gay marriage' in early May of this year, and this clown just now gets 'honest' in the home stretch?

Sounds more like the GOP just bought this pig off with an offer he couldn't refuse and he's decided to get some contracts signed.

The Democratic Party should not only take him down as their candidate, but ensure he's NOT nn the ballot to continue to abuse their financial support and deceive the voters there.

Then they should SUE him for every dime spent and false represntation, if such a thing is possible. Probably will never happen, but this guy's an...

Democrats here. There has been a lot of party switching as R's have taken control almost every elective office in the state. These turncoats show no integrity or conviction at all. Good riddance to these self serving jerks!
