NEW YORK (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday dismissed President Donald Trump’s executive orders as “laughable” and another chapter in the federal government’s botched response to the coronavirus as he praised New Yorkers for mostly good behavior that has reduced the infection rate in his state.

The Democrat was particularly critical of Trump’s Saturday announcement that states must pay part of $400 weekly unemployment insurance benefits.

He told a telephone news conference that Trump’s plan would likely cost New York state $4 billion.

“The concept of saying to states, you pay 25 percent of the insurance, is just laughable,” Cuomo said. “It’s just an impossibility. So none of this is real on the federal side. This is going to have to be resolved.”

I was afraid that Trump was going to actually DO SOMETHING, and that we would risk a dictatorship if he started spending money without authorization from Congress. Nope. He issued a pointless EO and three, toothless Memoranda so that he can SAY he did something when, in fact, he did nothing.

I would love to see a female VP, I would like either Warren, or Harris. But I don’t think that, racist, sexist, middle America is ready for a female President.
When you factor in Joe’s age, you can’t ignore that the next VP will have a higher chance of inheriting the office of president. So who Joe chooses weighs so much more than in previous elections. I think Joe’s numbers will drop if he chooses a female running mate. Not because I have an issue with that, but because the closet sexist/racist white voters in the swing states will. If Joe picked Cuomo, his numbers would skyrocket. Just my opinion.

If a woman rose to the top, so be it.

I'm excited for a woman to have a shot at becoming VP, but honestly I care more about freaking winning in November.

That's just me.

Biden's already normalized the idea of a PoC woman of color being in the VP slot, and his numbers are not going to stray much from where they are right now. The ones that are likely to vote against Biden for choosing a woman for VP most likely wouldn't vote for him anyway.

Plus, it would be unwise for him to break his promise. That would be like starting a new relationship off with a lie and relationships like that never last.

Joe shouldn't have boxed himself into a corner - a corner which has gotten considerably smaller now that there is such an outcry that a female POC should be his running mate.

Pretty small pool to choose from - all of them good, accomplished people - but all polarizing to one degree or another.
