Lincoln Project expands GOP target list, winning Trump ire
Source: The Hill
The former GOP operatives behind the Lincoln Project are expanding their list of Republican targets, infuriating allies of President Trump and national Republicans scrambling to preserve the GOP majority in the Senate.
In addition to a relentless negative ad campaign against Trump, the group has so far spent more than $1.3 million attacking Sen. Susan Collins (Maine), who is among the most vulnerable GOP senators up for reelection. Thats by far the most theyve spent on any Senate candidate.
Federal Election Commission filings reveal the Lincoln Project has also targeted a half dozen other Republicans up for reelection in 2020, including Sens. Cory Gardner (Colo), Martha McSally (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), Joni Ernst (Iowa), John Cornyn (Texas), and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.).
The group is running ads in support of Democratic Senate candidates Steve Bullock in Montana and Al Gross in Alaska, who are seeking to unseat Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), respectively.

(86,332 posts)And I can tell you that Daines is for selling off Public Lands, extractive industry including the XL and DAPLs and more coal and oil. And he would have us out sweeping the forests is he wasn't too cheap to put us in tents out there with brooms.
He's not a real Montanan, nor his buddy, Gianforte the body slammer.
Bullock is everything we've been asking for, has a very good record as a two-term governor... got us expanded medicaid when the R legislature opposed it and has help to protect Public Lands. He's lived here all his life. His cousin was the first victim of a school shooting in the state decades ago which colors hos views on gun safety, which is pretty sane for western sensibilities.
We have laws about outside influences in elections so all outside help is scrutinized. When TLP put out an ad for Bullock a few weeks ago, the NOR station here was somewhat miffed and tried to condemn the ad, didn't work. I think we're going to look bluer after November.

That is my absolute hope.
The ability to find common ground and move forward.

I believe in letting go and moving forward when it comes to politics.
Otherwise, I would go crazy.

(9,426 posts)Remember the night President Obama was inaugurated McConnell told a group of gop members "My job is to make sure Obama is a one term president" This - even BEFORE President Obama had a chance to do the job. The gop blocked EVERYTHING he tried to do. Bi-partisanship? Forget that. They all know tRump is a dud, stupid and ignorant, but they back him 100%, no matter how bad things get. If a (D) president had installed his family in the WH as "advisors" with zero experience, imagine the uproar from the gop? Kushner has been running this country for almost 4 years, and he does not know his arse from a hole in the ground. His daddy had to buy his way into Harvard, since he flunked the entrance exam. Guess THAT qualifies him to run the country in the gop estimation. GOP = TRAITORS.

Yes, they'll switch to another station, but might be a 3k watt station at the bottom of the AM dial.

(9,090 posts)until the ad industry breaks it up - there are aa variety of actions that would make it clear to the ad industry that it has to start asking advertisers if they REAALLY want to keep supporting rw radio.
same with all the universities and the pro teams that keep rw radio afloat by stupidly broadcasting sports on those stations
rw radio is a monopoly and not part of the free speech spectrum and it's certainly not a reflection of market demand for hate and racism and lies - it's not about competing with it - the monopoly has to be destroyed before we can make real progress

(9,999 posts)these are Republicans telling other Republicans that it is OK to NOT back their party's candidates, if those candidates are following Trump down the wrong path. The exact same message from Democrats might not carry the same weight.
