President Trump on Thursday told Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo that Democratic demands to fund mail-in voting and the U.S. Postal Service in ongoing coronavirus stimulus negotiations were a non-starter.

Why it matters: Trump directly linked Democrats' desired $3.6 billion for mail-in voting and $25 billion for the USPS to his continued baseless claims that increased mail-in voting will lead to widespread voter fraud.

"Those are just two items. But if they don't get those two items, that means you can't have universal mail-in voting because they're not equipped to have it," Trump said.

He claimed the 2020 election could lead to "the greatest fraud in history."

Holding hearings gets information to the public, but it doesn’t stop Trump. And they should then put the onus on federal courts to drop everything else and hear the lawsuit. A fair election is not possible when Trump and DeJoy are sabotaging the mailed ballot vote. Trump is gambling that his tactics will hurt more Democratic voters than Republicans because polls are showing that fewer Republicans plan to vote by mail.

After all, for the past 45 years, I have had to mail my 15+ bundle of holiday cards the first week of November for all my cards to get throughout the state by the 20th of December, and I've always had to mail off my bill payments three weeks before they were due because it took that long to get a letter across town...in DJ Drumpf's world.
