Police ‘extremely confident’ they have culprit in California homeless slayings
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Police said on Saturday that they believe a man arrested following the stabbing death of a homeless man in Anaheim, Calif., is behind three previous killings of homeless men in Orange County.
"We are extremely confident that we have the man that is responsible for the murders of all four homeless men in Orange County," Anaheim Police Chief John Welter said at a press conference.
Itzcoatl Ocampo, 23, was being held in jail without bail on Saturday, the Los Angeles Times reported.
He was arrested late on Friday about a quarter-mile from the Anaheim fast-food restaurant where a homeless man was fatally stabbed after two bystanders gave chase.
