Dozens of angry supporters of President Donald Trump converged on vote-counting centers in Detroit and Phoenix as the returns went against him Wednesday in the two key states, while thousands of anti- Trump protesters demanding a complete tally of the ballots in the still-undecided election took to the streets in cities across the U.S.

"Stop the count!" the Trump supporters chanted in Detroit. "Stop the steal!" they said in Phoenix.

The protests came as the president insisted without evidence that there were major problems with the voting and the ballot counting, especially with mail-in votes, and as Republicans filed suit in various states over the election.

Wearing Trump gear, the Phoenix protesters filled much of the parking lot at the Maricopa County election center, and members of the crowd chanted, "Fox News sucks!" in anger over the network declaring Joe Biden the winner in Arizona.

Rep. Paul Gosar, an Arizona Republican and staunch Trump supporter, joined the crowd, declaring: "We're not going to let this election be stolen. Period." However, observers from both major political parties were inside the election center as ballots were processed and counted, and the procedure was live-streamed online at all times.

One of my Trump-supporting work colleagues was upset yesterday because the votes were still being counted. She was muttering about ballots with no signatures and arriving 10 days after Election Day. She was upset that each state does their voting and counting differently.
I had to explain to her that we live in a democracy and every vote needs to be counted, and that each state has always had its own election regulations. I told her it’s not true that ballots without signatures are counted, or that votes that come in 10 days after the election are counted. When she continued to complain, I asked her to talk about it outside of the office. I was pissed.

I live in a "62 and over" apartment complex. I was in the common room minding my own business when I heard a woman in the lounge say "I don't care about his personality, he's done a lot for this country". I'm a patient person who tries to get along with everyone here because, after all, I live here with them. When she started in on Biden, I realized I had to get out of there and back to my apartment before I lost it. I almost made it. As she went on and on, I blurted out "He's ruining our democracy". She looked at me and said "I don't care about that". I freaked out and said, in a loud voice," DEMOCRACY "? She said "What does that mean, anyway? What is "democracy"? She wasn't an immigrant. She was born and raised in this country. I felt like a Civics teacher when I had to explain it to her. Afterward, she said "I still don't care". WTF?

For now states can step in and add it to their requirements to graduate HS and colleges can start to include it as a mandatory entry requirement. I realise it would probably be blue states that start the ball rolling but as colleges jump in with it as an entry requirement I would think the red states will eventually be forced to follow.
