Police say Utah man speeding in snow said he was on his way to kill Claire McCaskill

Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch

JEFFERSON CITY — A man who hit speeds of 130 mph in the snow on a Utah interstate told police he was driving to Missouri to kill former U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill “if she wasn’t dead already,” according to the Deseret News in Utah.

Police arrested George William Stahl, 36, of Cottonwood Heights, early Wednesday as authorities investigated terroristic threats, failure to stop, reckless driving, speeding, DUI and drug possession, the report said.

Citing a police affidavit, the Deseret News reported Stahl reached speeds of 130 mph while Interstate 80 was slick with light snow.

After police spiked Stahl’s tires, and arrested him, he said, according to the affadavit, that “he was on his way to Missouri to kill (former U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill) if she wasn’t dead already.”

No? It always amazes me how easily these guys confess their stupidity.

LEO: "Do you know why I stopped you?"

Driver: "Was it because I'm on the way to commit murder?"

murder as the first choice to coping with divergent views. Why are men like this, and that other bunch who were plotting the kidnap, torture and murder the Michigan Governor, so easily turning to murder, one on the worst crimes in any civilized society.

In commonality these two incidents both targeted women who are assertive, outspoken and self-confident. They are also Democrats who either hold current or former positions of power and are often speaking in public and on TV.

There's no logical reason why these two women were targeted for assassination. So why did these men feel so threatened that they would willingly face the death penalty just to stop them from speaking out?

Are they really that weak and insecure that a strong woman shatters their fragile world and drives them to murder? Is it their guns that make such a violent decision more easily acceptable? Are they being enthrall to the toxic propaganda and encouragement from Trump and the talking heads of rightwing media who repeat the same call to arms 24/7.

it happens all over the world and always has. Strong outspoken women (and also quiet, mild, introverted ones, and young girls) have suffered horrible torture and death, from saints to sinners.

Just being a woman is enough to trigger some men to violent outbursts. The patriarchy is so fragile and men feel so threatened by women that they have managed to prevent the Equal Rights for Women Amendment from passing for nearly 50 years.

It's time has come. "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex." It's such a simple concept, yet it's enough to strike terror in the hearts of these pathetic, weak men who continue their hostile War on Women, fighting against the uniquely American concept of equality for all.

From a different article:

George William Stahl, 36, faces several misdemeanor and felony charges following his arrest early Wednesday morning.

According to a probable cause statement, radar equipment showed Stahl was driving 115 mph per hour when he passed a Utah Highway Patrol trooper on eastbound I-80 near mile marker 145.

The trooper activated his vehicle's emergency lights and began to follow Stahl, but "the vehicle appeared to accelerate faster and pull away from me," the trooper wrote in the statement.

The probable cause statement said the pursuit reached a speed of 130 mph and the roads were slick with light snow. Troopers used spike strips to stop the vehicle and took Stahl into custody.

The trooper said Stahl was belligerent and appeared heavily intoxicated, and a search of Stahl's vehicle yielded an empty 12-pack of beer and another partially-consumed 12-pack.

"Stahl stated that he was on Adderall, LSD and beer," the statement said.

So, he drops a tab, and in sunshine superman phase decides he is going to drive, what, 1500 miles to kill a former US senator.

As everyone knows, once SS phase ends, holy shit I need need a depressant phase begins, and what better choice than Budweiser! And one twelve pack consumed, well into the second (kinda impressed he planned that far ahead. I mean, Budweiser! in Utah?), begins . . .

. . . with the sid in electroshock wired oh-fuck mode, and the Budweiser! depressing the system, and 1450 miles to go, what to do now? . . .

Well, Adderall of course! Snorted in a snowstorm going 80+ mph.

Really impressed. Lived in Idaho for a number of years, I always thought some of the inter-mountain retreads could give Florida Man a run for their money.

Hate to be this guys cellmate right now, though, considering he was drinking Budweiser! (Claire is from Missouri, she would know what I mean).

I just recently saw a news report showing a gadget invented by a cop, it pushes a "net" of tough strips of yellow tape under a car, tangles up the rear wheels and brings the pursued car to a rather abrubt stop.

A cop car using this device (mounted on the front bumper) stopped a kidnapping and pursuit.

If Trump wanted to put a hit out on a Senator, I am sure he could... just mention the name and let one of his undying fans to take on the task. He needs to be locked up.

Maybe they convinced him that if he told the truth they'd go easy on him.
Regardless, glad they got this one.
