Graham leads resistance to Trump ouster amid fast-moving impeachment
Source: Politico
Sen. Lindsey Graham is leading the charge against President Donald Trump’s impeachment and removal in the Senate, even as the White House remains largely uninvolved and as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is leaving open the possibility of voting to convict the president.
Graham, who just last week said he had had “enough” of Trump’s bid to overturn the election results after he incited a deadly riot at the Capitol, has been calling around to Republican senators urging them to oppose convicting the president in the Senate’s expected impeachment trial, according to three people familiar with the effort. Kevin Bishop, a spokesperson for the South Carolina Republican, confirmed that Graham “has been calling on his own,” adding, “Honestly we’re way ahead of any request from the White House.” McConnell is taking a markedly different approach. In a letter to Republican senators on Wednesday, the Kentucky Republican did not immediately reject the House’s impeachment of Trump and said he plans to weigh the opposing views during the trial. He also urged his colleagues to keep their powder dry in the runup to the trial. 6. Me too!
Whatever it is, Lindsey changed his tune 180 degrees after Trump took over in 2017. Something on the golf outing was said or shown to Lindsey that made him Trump's #1 Senate pet. But there are others - Cruz, Rubio - that also did an about face as well.

14. Nah, it's not the Russians
It's what does Trump have on him? My bet it has to do with his sexual identity and some tapes

5. Doesn't he realize what an ass we all think he is?
Does he think we weren't paying attention for the last 4 years? He has zero self respect and deserves none as well.
He will be known as the first person, next to Nunez, who blatantly showed their love for their dear leader and the he will be known as the first person who did a 180 again. He is not a person, he is a cockroach. |

8. Traitorous bastard.
He’s shown repeatedly he’s a soulless cretin who puts his own corrupt interests ahead of our country. He needs investigated for his role in coordinating the coup since he was dining with one of Trumps SA before the attack and he has been a faithful cheerleader for the garbage election challenge that was their vile rallying cry. He should be expelled from the people’s Senate as his Confederate predecessors were. He also should be prosecuted for his felonious attempt to tamper with Georgia’s election results, and lose his law license.

You are either with America or you are against it. If you want to go down in history as a fellow Trump insurrectionist, be our guest.

These repubs have burned the bridge they walk on and they cannot win, no matter what direction they turn. They are afraid for their lives. They created a monster and the monster is ready to consume them.

13. Lindsey may not get much cooperation. See, since so many firms have suspended donations....
...to Republican politicians and PACS, his efforts may fall on deaf ears. In fact, voting to impeach may gain them back the financial support they desperately want.

15. Donnie must really have something juicy on Lindsey
He made it known on that golf trip. Ever since then Lindsey's lips have been firmly embedded in trump's ass. And they will stay there as long as trump is alive.
