Tom Brady's dad reveals 'life and death' battle with Covid-19

Source: CNN

Tom Brady's father spent almost three weeks in the hospital with Covid-19, he revealed Monday, calling it a "matter of life and death."

Tom Brady Sr., the father of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, opened up about his experience battling the virus in an interview with ESPN Radio's "Greeny" show.

"When the (NFL) season started this year, I was in the hospital with Covid for almost three weeks, and my wife was sick with Covid at the same time," Brady told host Mike Greenberg. "We didn't even see the first two games of the year."

The father of the NFL star said he and his wife, Galynn, were both "sick as a dog," although Galynn did not require hospitalization. Brady's parents are both 76 years old, and his mom is a breast cancer survivor.

I wish them a swift recovery.

However Brady is a Trumper and I doubt he wore a mask even as it is mandated in MA. Perhaps in a store but my guess is they did not follow the rules of family gatherings.

I can’t imagine he went far without a mask. Maybe I’m wrong.

His dad has Covid. Perhaps he doesn't take care of himself the way his son does.

Tom Brady Sr. was the coach on my son's first little league team in San Mateo, CA. I have not met many people with Tom's qualities in my life. Years later, I was not at all surprised to turn on my TV to watch a Raiders game and see his son "Tommy" #12, as the opposing quarterback. And of course young Tom Jr. was an absolutely amazing ball player.

That was a good year.

I was saddened to see both Brady parents have been afflicted with covid.
