3. This isn't Trumpism. This is American Conservatism.
These aren't Trump policies. These are Republican polices in place long before Trump.
Trump isn't the creator. He is the product of decades of this bullshit. |

8. Certainly, to a degree
My point was as awful as Trump corrupted the GOP, The GOP suck terribly before him.
This horror is less trump and more GOP. |

21. As with virtually everything he has ever been connected too
Regardless of his personal extreme lack of any useful contribution, he has Slapped his name up on it in BIG letters.
He didnt make it. But its got his brand all over it. |

23. You're right.
Not only is he not capable of coming up with a coherent (as in, understood by other, English-speaking people) political philosophy, this streak of greed and power lust has run through the body politic forever, and putting an "ism" of any kind on it is just rebranding.

5. He sacrificed his life to keep the Texas power grid free of federal regulation
Source: The Houston Chronicle https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/energy/article/Perry-says-Texans-wiling-to-suffer-blackouts-to-15956705.php Maybe someone should ask Perry how many more children should die for the "freedom" of an unregulated power grid? |

16. To hell with that
make that BDFJ (Big Dumb Frat Jock) bury each and every one of them! I also hope that *any* aid they get, they have to pay for... dearly...maybe then they will stop listening to those rich asshats who keep preaching about 'unregulated power'. (If they have not now, they never will, but one can hope I suppose).

9. I don't know. I think a closer family would have
seen him through. His mom and step dad were there.
I think a biological Dad would have bundled up that little guy between him and his Mom. |

13. I think you are being unfair to the stepdad
who checked the children in night. They were all in the same room in mobile
home. I think the issues are the temperature and the lack of heat. |

25. I'm not slamming the step dad
I just know my wife and I would have shared blankets and body heat with our daughters.
It's more how I would be second guessing myself as a parent. It kind of doesn't matter who's fault it is when your freezing to death. I remain condemning of the Texas GOP government. I just personally find tragedy in what if I didn't take that step. |

26. I thought similar stuff but
I think it was more they didn’t realize it was necessary since they weren’t used to freezing weather and no power
Living up north all my life we know sharing body heat is the best defense So sad they didn’t realize |

10. So horrible--and preventable.
For those who dont know Conroe is just north of Houston and no one ever expected to freeze to death inside a dwelling outside of Houston. So dont blame the family for being unprepared.

22. Stalin was right.
It's the stories of disaster in microcosm that really make it hit home. I know that wasn't his quote, but this is an extension of it.
It's far harder to bear the death of one child so personified than it is to hear about nameless, faceless people summed up as "thousands," or whatever the number is. |
