AG Ken Paxton and wife Sen. Angela Paxton went to Utah during Texas freeze

Source: Houston Chronicle

While millions of Texans languished in their homes last week without heat, many of them racking up astronomical electricity bills, the state official in charge of consumer protection left to take an out-of-state trip.

According to a campaign spokesman, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton left the state during the middle of the power outage crisis to meet with a fellow attorney general in Utah for a “previously planned meeting.” Hs wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, was also on the trip, reported the Dallas Morning News, which first broke the story.

The revelation marks the third instance of a Texas public official leaving the state during the disaster that affected nearly every one of the state’s 254 counties.

Last week, photos emerged showing that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz flew to Mexico on Wednesday after losing power at his Houston home — a move he’s since said was “obviously a mistake” — and state Rep. Gary Gates, R-Richmond, traveled to Florida on a private jet.

Could have done the meetings over Zoom. Oh, but then he’d be in his own shithole state - right!

I figured spousal testimonial privilege was the only thing keeping Ken and Angela together.

If not, he lucked out with that last name in TX.
If so, he obviously doesn't possess the character his relative, actor Bill Paxton, had.

Note: I knew Bill Paxton. My brother was one of his HS teachers in Ft. Worth and Bill went to Europe with my brother's academic travel group when I was in college at TCU. He was a real class clown at the trip planning meetings, but he was sweet and kind.

He could have met with this guy a couple months later. I'm sure the attorney general of Utah would have understood.
This excuse was bullshit, pure and simple.

But he also invited his roommate from college to meet them down there . So Ted’s wife and kids ended up spending their vacation getaway with Ted’s collage roommate after Ted flew home.

Texas men used to be manly and not afeard of no dang blue norther. I can't imagine LBJ ever running away like this. Or John Connally. Or any number of others. Those were men. These clowns are namby-pamby mamas boys.

Yes, I know that's offensive but I don't care. They all deserve to be mocked.
