White House: GOP has 'struggled to articulate a reason' to oppose infrastructure plan

Source: The Hill

The White House said Saturday that Republicans have "struggled to articulate a reason" to oppose President Biden's $2.25 trillion infrastructure plan.

In a White House memo obtained by The Hill, adviser Anita Dunn touted growing momentum for Biden's proposal, citing positive reports from bond credit rating company Moody's, and growing support from climate experts, economists and others.

Republicans, however, have criticized the proposal's price tag, arguing that it advances progressive agenda priorities unrelated to infrastructure.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), said on Wednesday that "the latest liberal wish-list the White House has decided to label 'infrastructure' is a major missed opportunity by this Administration."

Oh STFU Moscow Mitch. Your party had the opportunity to do something about infrastructure 4 years ago when the orange tub of lard was in office. Instead you chose the self aggrandizing path by passing trillions in tax cuts for yourself and you wealthy donors.

Donald Trump claimed that to win re-election, he'd need an encompassing infrastructure plan out of three things.

And he'd need the GOP to do that.

So don't let the GOP say they feel skittish about spending $$$. They would've done it for their boy.

Good Policy. The party of regressives have no new ideas and are not gaining membership, so they continue toresort to votwr suppression, hate & fearmongering.

That's the only reason they need.

I'm sure they'll blow some smoke about the Corporate Tax increase too. Got to cater to the wealthy Corporate owners who pay very little, if any, taxes.

And the Repubs have been fighting it tooth and nail for all that time, though of course they gave lip service to the idea when convenient.

These cruds are loath to invest in the well-being of the country in anyway, shape or form, particularly if it gets in the way of direct payments through tax cuts to their sugar daddies.

Along with other legislation of course. Block block block. The only reason being it would help Obama's popularity.
Knowing they stymied Democrats plans on infrastructure investment during Obama's term, I'll bet was the reason it was paraded around as an election promise by Trump.

Yet when they finagled their way back to the WH, their greed got the best of them....again....and their first priority was a mainline injection of cash to themselves and their donors in the big tax break giveaway bill.

That is to have every Democratic president fail. They would rather destroy the country than to have Biden be successful and there fore the country successful.

Tax cuts? Gimme the Trillions. Workers? Few benefits for you.

Voting? Only Red votes decide elections. Not one of us? Stay home.

Infrastructure? Deficits are too high for that. Gimme more tax cuts.

And obviously corporate welfare tax cuts (and trickle-down economics in general) doesn't work, or we wouldn't NEED to have a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure plan now. So it's time for corporations and the super-wealthy to kick in their fair share.
