Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill admits affair, won't run for U.S. Senate: 'There's no excuse
Source: AL.com
After initially denying reports of an affair, Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill on Wednesday afternoon told AL.com that he had “an inappropriate relationship” with a 44-year-old woman and will not make an anticipated run for the U.S. Senate. —Snip— In an interview with AL.com on Wednesday morning, Merrill denied having had an affair and accused Cesaire McPherson of “stalking” and “harassing” him. —Snip— McPherson provided Al.com with a recording of an October 2020 conversation between her and Merrill, who is a Republican. In the 17-minute recording, Merrill and McPherson discuss various sexual acts they performed during dozens of romantic encounters that McPherson says took place between November 2017 and November 2020. Good ol’ Family Values. At least he’s off the Senate trail now.

12. Yep. Mo Brooks and Lynda Blanchard are ...
... trying pretty hard to out Oяaйgё each other. Both have commercials that mention Тяцмр’s name more often than their own.
But there’s no way we end up with someone stoopider than Tuberville, right? Please tell me we won’t end up with someone stoopider than Tuberville. |

As hard as that is to believe.

15. I knew of Mo in college at UA around '86 or so. He...
... was actively involved in campus politics, and the Greek organization called the “Machine” that doesn’t exist. He was skeevy then. But he’s not really what I’d call stupid. Just corrupt and opportunistic. But you’re right, that is worse.
That’s the only plus about Tubby. We don’t have to worry about him outwitting anyone. |

10. Absolutely perfect example of a RePuQ scumbag ... the affair is one thing ...
Denying it and trying to frame her as a crazy stalker UNTIL you're stone cold busted ... that is some major dickery right there.
I am keen to know how an October 2020 conversation describes sex acts that occurred in November of 2020 though, I have to say. That's either a neat trick, or these two were seriously into planning ahead on their sex moves. ![]() |

20. This guy. Again. Oh, those "Traditional Family Values!"
This guy. Again.
In 2015 Merrill admitted to having an Biblically wrong fucking of his not-wife, but denies he got an Old-Testament-wrong BJ from her. The woman, Millie Brinyark, said otherwise. In a sworn deposition filed with the court. In 2016 Merrill didn’t like automatic voter registration just, "...because your birthday comes around." In 2017 and keeping in character, Merrill defended the "Cinnabon-Stalker," Roy Moore, and said the women accusing Moore were liars. In 2018 and knowing all this, Alabama's Traditional Family Values "Christians" re-elected Merrill. And this week, Merrill denied having had an affair with ANOTHER WOMAN (Whew! At least it was a woman.) and accused HER of “stalking” and “harassing” HIM! For uhhhhh - three years! From November 2017 to November 2020! All that Biblically forbidden fucking must have been brutal man, BRUTAL! His fellow Republican, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, said Merrill made "poor decisions and bad choices.” Something she NEVER would have said had Merrill been a Democrat. |

His attitude toward gay rights given what he has going on in his personal life is what is really eye rolling. Moral decline indeed, Mr. Merrill.

27. I don't care about affairs either, EXCEPT...
... when they wear their superior morals on their sleeve, and decry the Country’s moral decline caused, they claim, by democratic tolerance.
My theory on the modern republican politician - especially in the South - is that their policy on religion necessarily attracts dirtbags. They have to profess to love Jesus the most to get elected. But they don’t really believe or follow any of it, obviously. It’s just to get elected. If you’re the kind of person that bullshits about Jesus and religious teachings, etc., there’s really no bottom to your depravity. They get the worst people because their system attracts the worst people. JMO. |
