Another aide to Matt Gaetz is said to have quit

Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON ó A second senior aide to Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida, abruptly quit in recent days as the congressman tries to fend off a Justice Department sex trafficking investigation and mounting public scrutiny, according to three people familiar with the decision.

The aide, Devin Murphy, resigned as Mr. Gaetzís legislative director on Friday. He told associates that he was interested in writing bills, not working at TMZ ó equating the work that Mr. Gaetzís aides were now handling to the tabloid publication, according to one of the people, who all asked not to be identified discussing a sensitive personnel matter.

His departure last week came hours after Mr. Gaetzís communications director, Luke Ball, also resigned. They were among the most senior members of the congressmanís staff in Washington and their exits suggest that even as he vows to remain in the House, Mr. Gaetz may be facing a hollowing-out of his support team.

Mr. Murphy, who had worked for Mr. Gaetz since he came to Congress in 2017, declined to comment on Thursday, but his LinkedIn page recorded that he left his position this month. The congressmanís office also declined to comment. One of the people who confirmed Mr. Murphyís departure said the parting had not been contentious.

1. What bullshit. "Writing bills" my ass. Geatz didn't do shit as a legislator.

And there's no fucking way that his legislative director was ignorant of him passing around nude pics and all that other garbage behavior he was engaged in while at work.

This asshole just wants to jump ship -- and find a new job -- before the worst details come to light.

3. Fucking Enablers

They're fine with working for and supporting this Asshole, when the bottom is not dropping out. But now that it looks like he's in trouble, they're RATS fleeing a sinking ship. I hope they all drown along with him. Too bad they'll find another repub lowlife to work for.

4. Gaetz was a scum bucket then,... but a cool fascist stud boy,..

.... bragging his brains out about his sexual exploits.

Gaetz is still a scum bucket but he is tainted and dirty now,.. so Gaetz's high ranking office team wants to cut anchor so their resumes don't get dragged through the same mud puddle Gaetz can't seem to avoid.

It is not that they find Gaetz actions deplorable and want to steer clear of that human trafficking. It is more like Gaetz is looking like a loser and hanging out with losers is not fashionable or good for your resume. Time to move on,.. absent a shred of morality or altruism,... but rather self preservation and retention of uninterrupted r upward mobility.
