U.S. has administered 183.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, CDC says

Source: Reuters

(Reuters) - The United States had administered 183,467,709 doses of COVID-19 vaccines and distributed 237,791,735 doses as of Saturday morning, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Those figures are up from the 178,837,781 doses the CDC said had been administered by April 9, out of 233,591,955 doses delivered.

The agency said 117,142,879 people had received at least one dose, while 70,692,645 people had been fully vaccinated as of Saturday.

The CDC tally includes the two-dose Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines as well as Johnson & Johnsonís one-shot vaccine as of 6 a.m. EDT on Saturday.

2. Yep. Biden's new goal is 200 million doses by April 30

200 million in 100 days (instead of 100 million)

3. Hit that next week!

I hope this huge decrease in infection rate in CA is a sign that massive vaxxing can have a quick effect.

15. California can give 5,000,000 doses a week right now. This week they are getting 2,000,000

The J&J/Baltimore factory issue is gonna hurt for the next several weeks, maybe longer . The 15,000,000 doses they had to throw away have to be temporarily be replaced by 30,000,000 Pfizer or Moderna shots in the short term vaccinations of people in the next few weeks. You won't be seeing any daily records for the next few weeks because of this issue...

BTW, the company that WAS running the Baltimore factory was one of those no experience new guys picked by, wait for it, the T***** administration. Now those guys are out and the BIDEN administration has made J&J run it essentially themselves.

The ghost of the former guy still hurting us all!!!!

IMHO.

8. NPR says 34.5% have had AT LEAST one dose, and 20.5% fully vaccinated

Last edited Sun Apr 11, 2021, 04:57 AM - Edit history (1)

34.5% have had at least one dose means 65.5% have has zero doses.

https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/01/28/960901166/how-is-the-covid-19-vaccination-campaign-going-in-your-state

The fully vaccinated (2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer or 1 dose of J&J) are included in the 34.5% that have had at least one dose.

9. That means more than half the country has some protection.

Great progress by the Biden admin. 4.6 million shots were administered today so if we average just 3 million a day for the next 25 days, that will be about 286 million vaccinated in Biden's first 100 days.

A remarkable achievement and something trump and his sycophants would never have figured out how to do

10. No, 34.5% have had AT LEAST one dose. That number includes the fully vaccinated, it is not

in addition to the fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated have had 2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 dose of J&J.

https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/01/28/960901166/how-is-the-covid-19-vaccination-campaign-going-in-your-state

34.5% have had at least one dose means 65.5% have had zero doses.

From the OP:
The agency said 117,142,879 people had received at least one dose, while 70,692,645 people had been fully vaccinated as of Saturday.

Worldometers has a 332,505,583 population for U.S.

117,142,879 / 332,505,583 = 35.2%, so a a little higher than NPR's number.

11. I said some protection. The point is we're getting there more and more everyday.

And with daily figures growing even more as better efficiency is reached, we'll get to the point where whoever wants it can get vaccinated. trumpers wouldn't have ever gotten us there.

14. True. We can "thank" Trump for the vast majority of the 31,918,591 reported cases and probably at

least as many unreported cases, and the natural immunity his Sweden-style herd-immunity strategy provided
