(CNN)The Biden administration has secured agreements for Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala to tighten their borders and stem the flow of migration, Special Assistant to the President for Immigration for the Domestic Policy Council Tyler Moran told MSNBC Monday.

"We've secured agreements for them to put more troops on their own border. Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala have all agreed to do this. That not only is going to prevent the traffickers, and the smugglers, and cartels that take advantage of the kids on their way here, but also to protect those children," Moran said.

The Biden administration has struggled to keep up with the influx of migrants coming to the border and as there has been a major spike in the number of migrant children in US custody.

Moran also outlined a two-pronged approach to address the situation at the border, including processing unaccompanied minors safely in the US and addressing the reasons why people migrate to the US.

UBI for all Central America and Mexican citizens. It can be paid for by $1 per gallon gas tax oncrease. Will reduce the border migration and also fossil fuel usage at the same time.

And we're decades from even stopping global carbon emissions from rising under a best case scenario, much less reducing atmospheric carbon load.

There is no quick or easy fix.

The US leads again in negotiating with North American countries.
Of course the Biden Admin approaches the issue by addressing the solution beyond our own border.

There is an obvious source for the reason behind fleeing one's home country that must be addressed.
I see President Biden eventually dealing with that matter in his timeline.

Classic Joe Biden 💙

...and insult Mexico like his predecessor did, Biden went to the source of the issue and is working it out.

Did trump EVER speak to any officials from Honduras or Guatemala about the immigration issue?
