Walter Mondale, who transformed the role of U.S. vice president while serving under Jimmy Carter and was the Democratic nominee for president in 1984, died Monday at 93, according to a family spokesperson.

Mondale spoke by phone on Sunday with President Biden and former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, as well as Vice President Harris and Minnesota Gov. 4. Took another one for the team when he stepped up to run in Wellstone's place in 2002

without enough time to mount a decent fight against the Coleman and the faux outrage over Wellstone's memorial nor time for "snowbirds" who had filed absentee to vote again in the senate race.

6. A lovely man

We were fortunate to have met him, but knew his wonderful wife, Joan, a bit better.
He once did my husband a very big favor by pulling strings to allow an Iranian visitor special visa treatment to avoid the usual harassment.
