Republican Kris Kobach, seeking comeback, launches campaign for Kansas attorney general

Republican Kris Kobach is running for Kansas attorney general, marking his latest comeback attempt after losing bids for governor and U.S. Senate.
Kobachs aim of becoming the states top law enforcement official is likely to draw sharp scrutiny of his checkered record as an attorney, which includes being held in contempt by a federal judge and serving as counsel to a non-profit whose leaders are charged with fraud.
Few Kansas politicians have done more to emphasize their ties to former President Donald Trump than Kobach, and his candidacy could test the staying power of a Trump-like message in the state as the country moves on from his presidency.
The most important reason Im running is to stand between the Biden Administration and the people of Kansas when the Biden Administration tries to do unconstitutional things, Kobach said in an interview.

Stassen sought the presidential nomination again at the 1952 Republican National Convention, and helped Dwight D. Eisenhower win the nomination by shifting his support to Eisenhower. After serving in the Eisenhower administration, Stassen sought various offices. Between 1958 and 1990, he campaigned unsuccessfully for the positions of Governor of Pennsylvania, Mayor of Philadelphia, United States Senator, Governor of Minnesota, and United States Representative. He further sought the Republican nomination for president in 1964, 1968, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 1992.

(34,095 posts)He has been rejected the last several times he ran for office but now? I don't know. After this last election I cannot even imagine an R losing except maybe him.
I would not put money on his chances of losing even though we have been rejecting him the last few times he has run for an office. Something happened here that reversed every gain we had. Something bad is going on.
