I'm so glad to hear this. My youngest child is going to be 12 at the end of June. It sounds like I should be able to get him vaccinated before he starts middle school in the fall. 🙂

(14,642 posts)Well, it wont help much in my area where we have more vaccines than people who want them. Still, overall, its a fantastic step in the right direction.

(14,642 posts)But if the adults are refusing to be vaccinated, what are the chances theyll get their kids vaccinated? Overall, it will help. Every vaccination helps. Im just frustrated that many kids in my area will not get vaccinated because of their anti-vaxx parents.

(77 posts)or has it been fully approved by the FDA? Not understanding why FDA can't give full approval, at this point.

(128,844 posts)Normally it takes a couple years of trials and data studies before a "full authorization" occurs. However since after the EUA was approved, and given the crises of this pandemic, millions have received their brand's shots (including a number of people who have voluntarily participated in CDC's "V-Safe" symptoms tracker program). So I expect they will probably apply for full authorization some time this fall (given their original study participants are still being tracked and would now contribute over a year's worth of their own data that can be amended to the final approval application).
