District Attorney says deputies who fatally shot Andrew Brown Jr. were justified
Source: CNN
District Attorney Andrew Womble said Tuesday that the deputies who fatally shot Andrew Brown Jr. last month were justified in using deadly force, citing a North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation probe.
Womble said the shooting, "while tragic, was justified because Mr. Brown's actions caused three deputies to reasonably believe it was necessary to use deadly force to protect themselves and others."
Brown, a 42-year-old Black man, was fatally shot by Pasquotank County sheriff's deputies in Elizabeth City on April 21 when they attempted to serve him with an arrest warrant, according to the sheriff's office.
A source with knowledge told CNN that the Brown family has not received any advanced information on the findings.

(1,242 posts)chases? Did the warrant for Brown read 'dead or alive'? If it did not, the officers failed in their 'duty to bring in' Brown. They brought in a body. The tires should be shot before the driver. A police car should have been parked in front of Brown's car. 'The handle was snatched out of his hand' - This deputy tried to stop a car with his hand or his body on the hood? Womble is doing much more damage to 'facts' than he is clarifying. He is willing to talk about possible kids walking to school, but no hypotheticals not helpful to his opinion.

(1,142 posts)Was Andrew Brown ever actually placed under arrest before he got in the car?
I wonder why they are not releasing more video, There were 10 deputies/officers there to go and serve these warrants, did they every notify him he was under arrest, read him his rights, is there video of that?
These are the kinds of questions that need to be asked
Because if he had been placed under arrest how come he wasn't in handcuffs and how did he ever get to the car?
Inquiring minds want to know the truth about how this all happened the way that it did
Since there seems to be a difference between what the family says happened and the public statements being made, by the prosecutor and law enforcement, it would seem like the video would be able to confirm what actually happened. So why so much hesitancy to release more video
