Michigan House Republicans adopt resolution against federal voting rights bill

Source: Detroit Free Press

House lawmakers adopted a GOP-backed resolution Wednesday by a voice vote that calls a sweeping voting rights bill in Congress supported by Michigan's chief election administrator a "massive overreach into state election administration."

Democrats in the U.S. House passed the For the People Act without a single Republican vote in early March. Its fate in the U.S. Senate is uncertain without the support of Republicans. Moderate Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia also has raised concerns about the proposed changes.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has called on federal lawmakers to pass the legislation to combat Republican efforts across the country to impose new restrictions on voting, particularly absentee voting on which Americans heavily relied during the Nov. 3 presidential election.

In a letter to the Senate committee that recently deadlocked along partisan lines on whether to bring the legislation to the Senate floor, Benson told federal lawmakers that "we at the state and local level are in dire need of the federal government to exert its constitutional authority to provide a clear 'floor' of voting protections for every American citizen."

2. No taxation without representation.

That is what this country was founded on. If you canít vote or it is not counted, you should owe zero taxes.

4. Dan Bongino replaced Rush on many stations

The "original" Rush show is still being broadcast with guest hosts and archival clips on others.

5. they can't ask for the same ad money and dems need to go on offense. bongino or

whoever else replaces him can't do it. they all relied on limbo for his take and now they have no leader - they're going to be all over the place and the republicans will be too

the rush repeats was is pitiful. i wonder how many different blowhards will take his spot? this is exactly the time to ddo some boycotting and force the ad industry to democratize/break up the rw radio monopoly
