Right Wing Watch reinstated after YouTube experiences massive backlash

YouTube has reconsidered their deletion of the RightWingWatch account that chronicled years of far-right extremism often hidden in the shadows.

The group, run by the People for the American Way (PFAW), appealed all of YouTube's rulings but the site ignored them, deciding to shut down the page regardless. Ironically, what RWW found was that many of the videos that they cut and uploaded for their own purposes came from larger clips that were still allowed from YouTube.

YouTube has a platform that bans extremism, but when reporting is done about the extremism, it's different than posting the clips to spread the conspiracies or the lies. YouTube didn't make room for that nuance.

"Right Wing Watch's YouTube channel was mistakenly suspended, but upon further review, has now been reinstated," a YouTube spokesperson told the Daily Beast, according to Justin Baragona.

6. YouTube is destroying itself

So many of my favorites documentaries gone. Whole accounts gone. It keeps spitting up my subscribed channels. Search is not working like it did 6 months ago. Can't find anything. All since I signed up for a Google account so my smart phone will follow me around.

I've found I can bring up more of the videos I'm looking for by filtering 'by rating'. You don't get all the inane results trying to divert you to somewhere else.

You can bring up still more by doing the search on Bing video.There are matching videos there that never turn up on YouTube search.

9. This is good. That said I am having a hard time

with an outlet that chronicles far-right extremism being banned and not the actual far-right groups not being banned.

They can't have it both ways and need real humans to make these decisions, to be honest. This should never have happened.
