France braces for nationwide protests against Covid-19 health pass

Thousands of French protesters will take to the streets on Saturday for a fourth consecutive weekend to demonstrate against the government-imposed Covid-19 health pass. The pass, which is an extended version of the EU’s Covid-19 travel pass, comes into force on Monday, and is mandatory for access to public spaces such as bars and restaurants.

Days after France's top constitutional authority approved the pass, calling it a "balanced trade-off" between public health concerns and personal freedom, protests are expected Saturday across the country for a fourth weekend in a row.

They rage from the vaccines have microchips and the COVID is fake on the MAGA end, to allegedly educated white liberals who have left wing views who refuse to give their kids measles vaccine because they believe it causes autism. Those folks help bring back measles.

13. There's truth to this, the oligarchy is showing

signs of concern over outcries about rising wealth inequality and declining democracy that are fueling social unrest. Note the prominent work of French economist Thomas Piketty, Capital in the 21st Century (2013).

Add in fears that the the masses will achieve some success in raising taxes on the oligarchy's massive wealth which has accumulated in 40 years of neoliberal policy- deregulation, lowered taxes on the wealthy, loss of social programs and the decline of democratic governance for the people.

The US has been downgraded to a 'flawed democracy' by economic experts for more than five years. Wealth has been distributed upwards and unequally not unlike the Gilded Age of Robber Barons in the US and feudal society in Europe and elsewhere.

These issues combined with the global pandemic and climate change present existential issues for humanity and the earth. At the same time we are also witnessing the crazed, rapid growth of anti- science belief systems esp. conspiracy theories and anti social behavior. Add in attachment to demagogue leaders and cults and supporting anti- democratic authoritarian governments. We are in very serious times.

And 63.5% of the population is now vaccinated.

I did come up with a counter-protest sign though I didn't go.

7. Well the top French court ruled it legal

This looks like a small faction of the population.

The filthy rich own everything anymore and the propaganda spewed out by them is never ending. I wonder how many of the protesters are paid actors? Paid actors are frequent attendees in anti-vaxxer rallies here in the US. Money can buy just about anything anymore.

Russia was exposed for backing extreme right wing groups in France to try and destabilize the country.

Covid is already taxing countries and anti-vaxxers only make it worse. I'm sure his claws are in the US too.
