Group sues for right to carry guns at Minnesota State Fair

Source: AP

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A gun owners’ group sued the Minnesota State Fair and Ramsey County on Tuesday, demanding that permit holders be allowed to carry handguns on the fairgrounds during the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

The lawsuit filed by the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus in Ramsey County District Court argues that the State Fair’s ban on weapons violates the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. The plaintiffs also include a preacher and a group member who say they want to carry their guns for self-defense when they visit the fair.

The lawsuit asks the court to order that Minnesotans who have valid carry permits be allowed to carry pistols at the fair, and that the sheriff’s office, which will provide law enforcement at this year’s fair, be prohibited from enforcing the ban.

The State Fair and Ramsey County issued statements saying they do not comment on pending litigation.

No one died but the bull.

Though, a bull in 2013 injured 8 people 30 miles south at the Dakota County Fair.

https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/08/08/bull-gets-loose-at-dakota-county-fair-seriously-injuring-woman/

Still not a justification to carry a CCW though.

is a lily-livered, gutless poltroon. Same kind of d-bags who bring their AR-15s to the grocery store because who knows what kind of violence old ladies buying cat food and moms buying milk and Froot Loops are likely to foment? And the State Fair, of course, is full of ISIS terrorists and Antifa people who might be buying Pronto Pups and cheese curds and looking at horses and giant hogs. So of course they need their guns.

We have family up in the Minneapolis area and we were making plans on visiting them during the fair so we can all go.

That ain't gonna happen now. I'm not going to be attending a fair where I know that people are walking around with guns.

Basically - boycotting the fair because of guns.

I don't think they'll succeed. I'll be skipping the fair this year on account of the virus, not because of the gun-humpers who probably won't be able to bring their guns. Used to go every year when I was a kid; we lived within walking distance. I love Pronto Pups, but only at the fair.

squelched in favor of these "carry anytime for any reason, or no reason at all." They just want to see the intimidation they cause. they get off on it, I have no doubt. But I'm sick of not being guaranteed MY right to walk safely down a city street or go to something like the fairgrounds without worrying someone is gonna accidentally or on purpose start shooting things up.

I say this as a veteran, and as someone who once was a sharpshooter. It's not so much a fear of guns, as it is a fear of guns in these idiotic hotheads' hands!

Too scared to go without a gun . . . at the state fair???
Don't go places that you might need a gun for self defense.
Just want to intimidate others 'cause, well GUNZ!
Then there's the winky thing . . .
and finally, where's my right to safely attend a public event without the fear of accidental or intentional gunshots being fired?

I'm fucking tired of the gunners and the anti mask/vaxers. I've isolated, distanced, masked and vaxed so it's your turn MFer. Same for guns; I'm trained, qualified and have retired my FFL and don't feel the need to "defend myself" while in line for the porta potti at the fair. Leave the god damned thing home.
