Texas School District Rebukes Holocaust Statement From Curriculum Director

Source: Newsweek

A Southlake, Texas school district has backtracked in the wake of outrage after one of their top executives was recorded suggesting that Holocaust denial should be taught in their classrooms.

In an audio clip released Thursday by NBC News, Gina Peddy, the executive director of curriculum and instruction for the Carroll Independent School District (ISD), can be heard in a meeting suggesting that opposing views on the Holocaust should be included in textbooks.

"Make sure that if you have a book on the Holocaust," Peddy says, "that you have one that has an opposing, that has other perspectives."

Others in the room can then be heard questioning her, asking how it is possible to teach opposing views of the Holocaust.

She said their little secret out loud in public so is in trouble, but the thought process of normalizing the nazis and actually being them is already well under way by the right wing.

Only after the outcry. I am betting that if this had not gone viral, they would have tried to find 'middle ground' on the matter so as to not exclude the poor Axis worshippers who are still butthurt about not being able to discriminate at their whim. Our civil war was 156 years ago. WWII was 75 years ago. and we still have not managed to remove bigotry from our society. I wonder why?

Eisenhower wanted the Holocaust and death camps thoroughly documented because he knew there would be these evil scum who would try to deny it.

Yet Trump has his 6MWE and Camp Auschwitz followers. That's anti-denial in his own camp. (6 Million Wasn't Enough)

The 6 million refers to the Shoah - and the Shoah is only a part of the Holocaust.

If Texas wants an alternative narrative on that period perhaps they should teach that the total toll in deaths was closer to 12 million when Poles; Russians: Romany; Slavs; and other "undesirables" are included in the slaughter list.

Perhaps Texas and similar states could teach these facts as the alternative Holocaust information and remind future citizens how the type of fascism currently used against women in Texas can grow into the evil genocide that has been repeated frequently since WW2.

I really don't know how anybody could believe the holocaust did not exist. I visited the holocaust museum in Washington DC, you would not believe how many people were doubting everything they saw and heard. We walked into a cattle car (a replica) that was used to transport Jews to concentration camps. There were guys in the car saying it was all a lie, the cars were rebuilt shorter than the actual cars, Jews weren't packed in should-to-shoulder, the travel time was not as long as they say it was (in many cases 8 or more hours). Eventually some guy yelled out "why don't you guys shut the fuck up!

Racism is a powerful, evil tool of mankind. Once the seed of racism is planted, it germinates into anger, resentment, hatred, violence, and death. Nothing good has ever come from it. Those who promote it may benefit for a time, but only for a time. This is why they have to lie about it. But history is no fool, it will uncover all the evil and expose it to the world for all to know. So lying will not help, what's done in the dark, will come into the light!

SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TELL THIS TO TRUMP AND HIS SUPPORTERS!!

Exposing the vocal minority for the gangster NAZIs they are not only shuts them up, the light of day makes them scurry under the refrigerator where they hide with the other cockroaches.

It seems the real outcry never starts at Womens’ Lives being threatened and upended, although such misogyny should be regarded as an alarm.
The two should be addressed together, Sexism and Racism both.

What Holocaust deniers? Is that where that thought was going? Or the guards and mixers had guilt feelings but couldn't express them, and it plagued them for the rest of their lives? None of it makes any sense.
